Here today and it is much more crowded than I expected. This is our fourth day and BY FAR the most crowded. In fact, the previous 3 days were downright reasonable.

Not sure why today is so different?

I was there yesterday and it was much more than reasonable … it was the lowest crowd day I’ve seen in a LONG time—years! My family who were visiting for the very first time were able to ride 18 rides between 8am and 8pm, plus have lunch at Bengal BBQ with plentiful tables available, meet characters, watch the cavalcade, takes lots of photos and hit the iconic Disney snacks and treats (Dole Whip, churros!) without any wait. There were very few ride breakdowns, no lines for food or bathrooms, and walking around was so easy. My cousins walked up to the curb *as the cavalcade was already moving down the street and many more people could have fit there at the curb. It was absolutely magical.

My friend is there today and reported such massive crowds and lots of ride breakdowns. What a difference a day makes!

I think the main reason is the fact that today is a random Tier-2 day ($142/ticket for one park) sandwiched between More expensive days (yesterday was Tier 4, $180). This is the least expensive ticket price day by far until the end of the summer when kids go back to school. I think people elected to come today versus yesterday because it was less expensive.

Yesterday was AMAZING. I don’t think we waited more than 20 minutes for any ride and the vibes were immaculate :) Today? Is an entirely different situation. That makes sense about the different tiers.

Could be the first wave of the Independence Day, and (if there are any Canadians who didn’t let politics ruin their visit), Canada Day crowds.

On the days attendance has been light, like Father’s Day, reservations for MK were showing as unavailable. Today is showing as still available, even when rides like Guardians saw their waits swell to over 3 hours.

I’m guessing that as long as the park has staffing, Disney is willing to pack the parks full - the entrapment budget for the 70th is huge so they gotta make it up somehow…
