LMC said:Now back to the original OP, I wish there were news updates on the major networks. If anyone hears of any news specials coming on TV, please post, I would like to see the progress being made.
I know that no one outside of our area will be able to view it, but this Friday at 7 p.m., the local news station here in South MS will be airing "Hurricane Katrina, South Mississippi's Story. From what I can tell, it is going to be a spectacular show with lots of first hand accounts and before and after shots all along the Coast.
You can, however, go to their website at wlox.com and view some up to date information on how the coast is recovering. If you scroll down to "Featured Videos" there is a story on the frustration with the installation of FEMA trailers. Also, if you click on "Hurricane Katrina Recovery Information" at the top left on the home page right below the lighthouse, you can link some incredible before and after video of Biloxi and Gulfport. It just brings tears to my eyes to see such beautiful centuries old landmarks that were so glorious one minute and the next look like they suffered the wrath of an atomic bomb.
Check it out. You will have an entirely new perspective on how things are right now down here.
