I love Elizabeth! She is one of my all time favorites. I know her health is not good and I feel so very sorry for her. She shouldn't have to deal with this. I know she is a strong woman and I know her kids mean the world to her. I hope they are bringing her some kind of comfort at this difficult time.

When will these idiots learn that when you are in the public eye, be it for politics, sports, movies, or anything else, the truth will come out eventually. The press are pretty much scum but when they smell blood they will find the truth. If only they were so diligent in matters more important than other people's love lives, but that is a whole different thread.

I thought the previous thread was about his wife. He was too scummy, even back then, to have his own thread.

I feel sad for his wife & kids. Did he wait this long to announce he's the father, because his wife is closer to dying? Too bad she has to leave them in his care afer she's gone.

Apparently one of his former aides is releasing a tell all book very soon. Hence the timing. Not exactly coming clean for the sake of coming clean.

His wife deserves better. My heart goes out to her. (I don't believe she is dying, thankfully.)

I like her too. She's a good woman. I think she is staying because she knows it is the best for the kids. No sense uprooting and changing their lives when they probably already will change sooner than they would ever want it to.

A writer in the paper today was trashing Elizabeth saying that she was exploitative by writing 2 books and going on Oprah about the whole thing. Elizabeth called the love child "it". Give me a break. If my husband had a love child with another woman I'd call an IT too! Can't the woman be angry????

Yes, it's the aide who originally claimed HE was the father of Edwards' baby! I guess that friendship (between he and Edwards) is over....

Exactly! He knew the baby was his and he forsake her. He knew his wife was dying from cancer and he forsake her. All for his selfish needs. I'd be embarassed if I was his child.
