Where's the grilled cheese?!

If a grilled cheese isn't on the menu just ask, 99% of the time you can get one for him no problem!

My 3 year old DD eats whatever I make, I am not a short order cook. She LOVES all sorts of foods, her current favorites are asparagus with lemon butter sauce and olive tapenade on pita bread. This being said, at Disney, with their current children's menu offerings, it is very hard to get a kid who has a more "developed" palate anything to eat. We will be on the dining plan, and my DD will have to order from the kids menu. She will choose almost anything besides pizza, chicken nuggets, the so-called "normal" kids foods. We are almost forced to eat at buffets so she'll get what she likes. I hate kids menus!!!

Same goes for your daughter - if there is something on the adult menu she wants ask if you can get a kids portion.

I do miss the days when esp at Epcot most restaruants offered at least one choice of kids meals that was a version of specialty foods offered there!

My kids rarely ate from the kids menu but would often choose a soup or salad instead and I would somtimes give them my appetizer (when they were included in the DP).

That said - I wish there were a bit more variety in kids menus but the restaurants offer what the kids order !

I think most kids go through phases when it comes to dining. I went through a peanut butter and mayo phase (can't stand mayo as an adult), a grilled cheese phase, a spaghetti phase, and a hot roast beef sandwich phase. None of them lasted longer than a few months, and I eat a well rounded diet today. But I can remember the panic as a kid when we'd go into a restaurant and I would wonder if my current favorite would be on the menu, especially during the hot roast beef sandwich phase.

I agree that the menu tools here are very helpful when looking for a particular favorite food. I just became a big fan of polenta about a year ago, and I've enjoyed trying the different types around the "World".
