I'm looking for a great place to take a family walk. Someplace where you run into all sorts of fun stuff (playgrounds for kids, gardens, benches, a place to grab a drink, etc....) Anyone have any ideas?
The boardwalk is wonderful. And what about Camp wilderness? Walking trails, the petting zoo, then catching the nighttime showing of the disney movie with Chip and Dale. We haven't done this yet, but hope to on our next trip.
You can also watch the ELP from the beach when it goes by. They also have several playgrounds and the barn where the ponies for Cindy's carrage are kept.
The Boardwalk is nice for shopping and dining any time of day and has some cute outdoor entertainment in the evening. However, there are no playgrounds or gardens.

We also enjoy walking. We love walking from Fort Wilderness to Wilderness Lodge. Just a meandering path through the Florida woods, but a gem at the end of the walk (WL). Then walk around WL and take the boat back to FW.
We also enjoy taking monorail to the Polynesian and then walking over to Grand Floridian. This is a beautiful walk at night also. Then while at GF, check out the resort, walk to the water and catch the Electric Water Parade (at night) or catch the fireworks at Poly or GF.
Try walking the Polynesian Resort paths at night. The tiki torches are lit, island music is quietly playing in the background, there are beautiful views of the GF, CR and MK across the lake....
Gardens, playground? How about walking around at POR? When you're tired and thirsty, go grab something at the food court or go listen to Bob the Piano Player.
I like to do the loop around the Epcot Hotels. It is a nice walk with some restful places along the way. When you get over by the beach club you can stop into Beaches and Creams and grab an ice cream to go. Sit out by the gardens, finish the ice cream and finish walking back over to the Boardwalk. If you are really energetic, you can take a walk over to Fantasia Gardens for a game of mini golf too.
There are so many nice sights to see at WDW. However, nothing happens at WDW without some walking. Sometimes the walking is considerable. Enjoying a nice walking outing after a day at the parks is something that is only for the most dedicated walker.
I totally agree. CSR even has music piped in around their resort. There is a playground, bar and an arcade at The Dig Site so that the kids off all ages can have a great time. The scenery is really awesome.
We have taken several walks around the property to appreciate where we are staying and just love it!
One of my favorite walks is around World Showcase after the Illuminations crowd clears out. It's amazing how beautiful & peaceful it is. There have been times that we are the only ones there, except for the occasional CM. It's also a great time to have a CM take your pic with nobody around!
Our family also enjoyed walking through the various trails at Animal Kingdom, especially Discovery Island and the Oasis. We lingered on those trails and saw some kangaroos and other interesting animals... found those trails to be shady and peaceful even on a hot August afternoon...
