My connections today were really close together, barely made the second flight so I knew our luggage didn't make it. Did the lost luggage thing with the airline and they said the luggage would be coming in on the next flight from Philly which was around 4:05pm. Then it would be on a plane to the little airport in my town arriving at 5:55. Called customer service to check on it and it says that the luggage hasn't been found yet. :confused3 Hmmmm, I was told it was in Philadelphia and didn't make the second plane. Did they lose it? I'm glad I'm home and don't need what was in my suitcases tonight. Two of my last 5 flights have lost my luggage. Is it me? :confused3 lol

I have it, Im looking thru it now

Last year on our return trip from the Bahamas, our luggage didn't make it to the airport. We filled out lost luggage claims and left them with the airline. We got home around 11pm that night. Around 3 in the morning, we heard someone knocking loudly at our front door. My husband went downstairs half-asleep, opened the door, and there was an airport employee standing there with all of our luggage. It was very nice of them, but we could have gone a few more hours without the luggage!! :)

Did you fly USAir thru Philly?? My parents had the biggest FIASCO with them when they flew here.

Best part was, my DF and DH decided to just stop by the airport here to see if it had arrived the next day.....they assured them no, but they proceeded to look through a pile of luggage in the lost luggage office and there was my mothers.

I then had a VERY long discussion at almost 11 pm that night with an airline rep who was not even located in this country and he told me that they were still looking for the 3 bags....I went off and told him that if they had a clue they would know it was only 2 now since one had arrived.

Oh, and I asked him about just locating where the bags where using those barcode tags they put on all the bags.....they dont use those to track bags....I told him I found that ridiculous in this day and age with terrorism that they couldnt tell where each bag was and why even tag it!

I am sorry you are having a simliar experience. Definitely complain at a hirer level. My parents were not only compensated for what they had to buy while here, but they were given about $150 in gc to fly again. DH and DF were supposed to golf while they were here and barely got a chance to cause the airline screwed up.

We heard from others in line the first night here that luggage is ALWAYS lost through Philly.

I've had a similar thing happen. I gues they are damned if they do and damned if they don't (hope that's not offensive to anyone--mods, "fix it" if you need to). For someone who has reached their destination and has no clothes, toothbrush, etc., they might welcome that 3:00am knock.

USAir called this morning. My luggage came in with a flight this morning instead of last night. The lady called me at 10:30 am and said that they delivery guy doesn't work today and that they're open until 11. I said that I would be there sometime today. She said bye and we hung up. A minute later the phone rings again...she wanted to clarify that it was 11am that they close. They reopen from 5:45-6:45pm. So at 5:45 I went and got my luggage. I better get some bonus miles out of this.

And yes, it was USAir out of Philly.

We flew last december from California to Philly and from Philly to Puerto Rico, we had a very short connection and they lost our luggage, they said it would be in the next flight, then the next, then the next and so on, we waited 8 hours for 6 flights to come in and the luggage never came. So we took a taxi to go on our cruise, I had my luggage SO didn't have hers, they said the luggage would catch up to us on the cruise on the first port, didn't catch us, we got it the 2nd day of the cruise, it was a pain. Maybe your luggage will come, just a few days later than expected.

In Sept 01, I flew from Myrtle Beach SC to Chicago to attend a friend's wedding. DS was 4 months at the time. Our original flight was canceled because it was missing the 'manual.' I'm still wondering how it got to Myrtle Beach w/out the "manual" but anyway, back to luggage.

Ds and I were rushed onto a USAir flight that was leaving in a few minutes. We were told that our luggage wouldn't make it but Delta had another flight to Chicago at 630 am and that our stuff would be delivered by noon the next day. We were also told that we'd get $200 upon arrivial to get us through the night. I should also mention that I was IN this wedding. We were flying out on a Thursday night. The rehearsal was Friday and the wedding Saturday.

Since this was before 9/11 DH was at the airport. After I left on US Air he saw my bags and talked to the Delta people who assured them my stuff would get there by Friday afternoon.

Friday comes, no luggage. I have to deal with US Air since they were the last airline I flew. They've never seen my bags, don't know where my bags are or when they are coming. I talk to Delta who swears my bags arrived at O'Hare and then sent them to USAir on the 'interairport' belt.....you can see where this is going.

I'm in Chicago with a 4 month old, IN a wedding and I don't have my stuff!!! Since I was traveling alone with an infant I checked everything I could, including the dress and shoes for the wedding.

I buy something for the rehearsal, hoping the bags will come sometime before the wedding.......

To make a long story short, the bags never arrived in Chicago. Luckly the bride was a very laid back friend who didn't care (too much) that my dress was lost.

You have to wait 30 days before you can make a claim. Somewhere, someone got brand new baby clothes, a $400 suit and a bridesmaid dress because I never saw my stuff again!

I was reimbursed nearly $3000 but now I never check anything I don't want to have to replace!

Last month I carried on my favorite boots and when asked why I had to drag out the story. At least the SW flight attendant got a good laugh at me lugging around the maxium allotted carry-ons for DS and I!

Friday comes and no luggage arrives by noon. I call and they assure me it is at the

Did it have good stuff? Is it time to go shopping at Unclaimed Baggage Store in Scottsboro?

I've only lost a bag once and I got it at my hotel the next morning. I slept in my swimsuit. My kids were in the room so I had to wear something and didn't want to sleep in my clothes in case I had to wear them the next day. I ALWAYS pack my swimsuit in carryon - because, honestly, my vacation would be RUINED if I had to go swimsuit shopping!

In 1986, I was making my first trans-Atlantic trip with one of my friends. I had tied a green ribbon on my luggage and took some for her to tie on hers. She told me that it was the most ridiculous thing she'd ever heard. Who could possibly have the same luggage as her?

Needless to say, we got to London... she, I and my bags. Three days later, Pan Am finally found her bag in Manchester. They'd have them at the hotel in London later that day.

Let's just say that we arrived back in America and still no bags for her. Luckily, she was a size smaller than me, so we shared my things.. except for my underwear <ick>. If it had been my bag, we'd have been poor students having to buy me everything that I would have needed.
