Is he working too hard? Is he sick? Is he sick of working too hard?

Is he on vacation? :teeth:

Where's ConcK? Huh? Where'zee?

I'm glad someone asked, I've been wonderin' this myself now for a week or so, I just hate to appear nosey.

Where is Conc, I miss him. :sad1:

Actually my wife asked about him the other day. I told her I'd not seen him around... still haven't seen him, so thought I'd ask.

Not nosey, eh? Just a little worried ('cause that's what I do best, worry). :confused3

He's such a sweetheart. I wish him the very best.

He last checked in on the 21st in the "What do you look like" thread. I'm sure when he sees this he'll pop in here too

The 21st of February? Well, that's not so bad then. Must have missed him...

But that's not the same as starting one of his cool threads, or coming "down" here and talking ta' us! :snooty:

He's had a pretty rough week. I'll let him explain, but I can tell you it all worked out for the best! :thumbsup2

Ah no. :( Why is it that the nicest people seem to have the roughest times? :(

Good that it all worked out though. ::yes::

thanks for the update Mike - sorry about the rough week - also glad it all worked out in the end! :thumbsup2

Hey everyone!

Starting at the beginning of the month, DP was having some chest/stomach pains, so we took him to the doctor. Blood tests, x-rays, and a sonogram later we found out it was only gall stones, and a slightly inflamed liver. He's ok, but in general he hasnt been feeling great, so he's going to be going on medical leave and possibly disability.

Then on Saturday, I was going to check the mail with my youngest parrot (my African Grey who follows me everywhere and is always with me) when someone started a chainsaw and spooked her. She flew into a tree by the house and stayed there all day and into the night. I brought out her cage to see if she would go to it, but she didnt.

The next morning she was still up there, and after trying to call her down I went inside for a few minutes. WHen I came back out, there was a red-shouldered hawk that lives nearby flying around. I called for her but didnt see her. Then I heard her yell down the block and went running, only to see the hawk attacking something. I thought for sure she was dead. I went home, drugged myself, and slept most of the day.

I didnt hear from her at all for the rest of that day or night (and that was at about 7am). Then on Monday afternoon, I get a knock on the door from one of the guys who works in the development. It seems a couple of old people down the street called the main office because there is a bird in their carport, and they thought they saw a birdcage outside my house. I go over and there is my little Dusty, holding on to the screen of their side window and looking especially frazzled.

She was pretty shell-shocked for the rest of Monday, but now she's back her normal self. She has a small scratch on her head, but is otherwise unharmed :)

So that was my traumatic last 2 weeks.

Geez is that all??? I'm so sorry about DP I do hope he gets well. And I'm also happy Parrot turned up and is healthy. I would have been devistated!

While I am really glad that you are ok and the birdie didn't fly the coop for good, I must say that saying that "it was only gall stones" is so not the way that you would say it, if you were the one with the gallbladder problem. I hope your hubby gets to have his out. I can't tell you how much better I feel having had mine out last year. If he has questions about recovery and such, I would be glad to talk with him.

Oh MY GOD - I am so happy it all worked out - it sounds like a rough few days. I could not imagine being in that situation.

Glad it is all okay now!

Aww, Conk - sorry you're going through a rough patch but I'm glad it all worked out. :goodvibes

Didn't Conck's parter have cancer not too recently?

In that case, I can see where "whew, it was JUST gallstones" is what they'd say. MUCH better than a relapse.
