...good workout clothes? Can I just get a cheap knit outfit from Walmart, or do I really need to go to Oshman's or Academy or something?

Try 'Target', they have an entire section of inexpensive workout clothes. :)

I got some stretchy shorts and "capri" length pants at Galyn's. And a sports bra too. I think for the three things I spent less than $25 (sales) Then I just wear an oversized tee shirt.
It is MUCH more comfortable than working out in regular clothes

Rajah-All you need is a comfy pair of shorts, shirt and good shoes. Enjoy yourself, have a little fun, focus on the good and you will succeed!!!:p

I like wearing the sports bras under a large tank top and a pair of elastic waist pants
(I sweat too much to wear my reg bra)

My theory is that you should exercise in whatever you're comfortable in. I agree that a sports bra really helps if you're going to be perspiring a lot though (plus, it helps to keep things from bouncing around too much!).

I usually wear shorts or stretchy shorts and a t-shirt or tank. If I'm going to be perspring a lot, I'll use a sports bra (a lot of times I go walking after work, in which case I just wear my regular bra).

I started wearing compression shorts (bascially really tight spandex under my running shorts). It is suppose to help from pulling a muscle in your legs. I only wear them when I play sports that I have to "short sprint" at. You may want to think about it IF you are planning to work your legs out. It really as helped my hamstrings and quads from getting strained.

What a great post. I was just facing this dilemma this morning.
I don't know what size you are but I had a hard time finding the right "pooh" sized work out clothes for me. I tried Kmart and Walmart and finally found some at Target. It was a limited selection but at least they had some.
I found it somewhat amusing that they don't make cheap workout clothes for those who need it the most:rolleyes:

Tina -- never thought of that, but you've got a point. I'm lucky in that they had several types in my size. :) My Target had a great selection, though most were in the S/M/L size. But I didn't see any "pooh" sized ones there, either.

Thanks to Kelsie's tip, I found what I was looking for at Target. It doesn't *match* because I hate tank-tops with a PASSION. I am just not comfortable wearing anything that shows midrif or has spaghetti or even thin straps. I want sleeve. Even if it's just an inch or two, I want sleeve. But I did find two stretchy shirts-- one even has a Mickey on it! :D And I think they'll work well. One's pink with a short sleeve, and the other is a blue classic Mickey in sparkles. The Mickey isn't the type of shirt I'll wear often, but so what? Pants are black stretchy capris so I guess anything goes for a top. :) Plus, I don't really *need* to match, I just need to be comfortable, right? :D I'll need to find a sports bra, but I think with yoga that's not as important as it is with some of the higher-impact sports, and at least can wait until this weekend. At least, the two experiences I've had so far with yoga, the bras I use normally were fine. So I found something I was able to use this evening and will be able to use tomorrow. :D
