i got 2 quotes to stay at Boardwalk standard view for 880 3-nights or 3 night at grand Floridian for 1100. I know Boardwalk has a kitchen which is nice for the baby but the grand Floridian is right on the monorail which is nice.

Few questions about each. For the gran Floridian is there a fridge in the outer building garden view rooms? In the boardwalk do all rooms have kitchens and where can the boat take you. I know you can walk to Epcot from Boardwalk but can you take the boat to disney from there or only to downto Disney

BW kitchens? Was it a villa or bwi room ? Pretty sure only villas have kitchens

There are fridges in all deluxe rooms so GF will have one

Both are great resorts. Prefer GF but that is just me. Also we do more late nights at MK so the monorail or boat back is easier then getting to BW late at night

Bw boat goes to epcot or Hollywood studio. Can't take a boat from bw to disney springs / dtd

There is a mini-fridge in all of the GF rooms, I believe the Boardwalk Villas have kitchens, I do not believe regular Boardwalk rooms have kitchens. Boats from BWI, or Beach Club/Yacht Club can take you to the entrance to either Epcot or DHS, they do not go to Downtown Disney, nor do they go to the Magic Kingdom. You can go via monorail from Epcot to Magic Kingdom, but that is at the exact opposite end from where you would enter Epcot. From the GF you can take either the monorail or the launch to the MK -- the launch goes MK/GF/Poly/MK on a continuous loop. The monorail goes GF/MK/CR/Poly/GF.

And only the one and two bedroom villas have true kitchens. The studios have a small fridge, micro, toaster, coffee maker, and sink.

As far as BW villas go...the studios have a kitchenette, small fridge and microwave with paper plates and plastic forks etc. The one bedrooms and larger have the full kitchen with regular sized fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, plates, glasses and silverware. They also have a washer and dryer.

We are traveling with a one year old. Kitchen would be nice but all we really need is a fridge for formula.

So what exactly was your Boardwalk quote for - a regular room, a studio, or a villa?

Stay at the GF. It is closer to the MK and you can take the monorail to both the MK and to Epcot (nice with the baby).

The GF GV rooms all have a small fridge. You can try requesting a microwave. They are sometimes available, I believe.

Yep, there is a Mini Fridge in the Grand Floridian. My favorite resort to stay at is the Grand Floridian and we have stayed twice. Both times were fantastic and the resort is so beautiful. They also have several great places to eat. You can't go wrong with the Grand Floridian in my opinion.

I would choose the Boardwalk.

That walk to Epcot is an amazing perk for the Epcot resorts!!! (Or, if you prefer, you can take the boat. But we've always walked from the BC or YC.)

You can also either take the boat or walk to Hollywood Studios. (We've never walked that one.)

There are busses that will get you to the Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom. (Or, if you really want to ride the monorail, you can take it to the MK, but it's absolutely NOT the best bet in terms of time. You would have to walk to Epcot, then walk THROUGH Epcot, then take the monorail to the TTC, then switch monorails to get to the MK.)

The good news is that if your child is napping, you can do all of that without taking him/her out of the stroller-- which you would have to do to board the bus.

Go for the Boardwalk! At night you can stroll around World Showcase, watch Illuminations, and stroll back to your resort. It's wonderful!!!

At the Boardwalk Inn or Villas (not sure which you were quoted) you can take a boat to Epcot and also to Hollywood Studios. Your best transportation to the Magic Kingdom (Disney as you call it) would be on the bus. Also bus transportation is available to Animal Kingdom.
At the Grand Floridian you can take the monorail or boat to Magic Kingdom, and the monorail to Epcot. Transportation to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom are by bus.
As others have said make sure you know what type of room or villa you are being quoted. It sounds like you might be a bit confused.

Grand Floridian in a heartbeat. I've stayed at BW and it was nice. But I don't think it has the magic or the grandness of the GF. And for me nothing beats staying on the monorail.

It's a regular room. Spoke to my wife about it and we went over all the quotes. All of these atre for 3 nights in standard rooms.
$455-Caribbean beach
$1015-cabins
$700-animal kingdom lodge
$800-Boardwalk
$1100-gf

The only one on that list with a kitchen would be the Fort Wilderness Cabin. All the other choices listed just have the mini-fridge only.

Yea the kitchen is not a must. We would maybe just use it for breakfast for my daughter and that's it. We don't cook when we go away. We are pretty much eliminating the cabins but are stuck between the other 3. We don't plan on going to animal kingdom, just Epcot and MK. My thing is if it's worth it to spend $650 more to stay at the gf over CB.

You really can't compare a moderate resort like CB to a deluxe resort. It's just a completely different experience. If the GF is busting your budget I would split the difference and choose the Boardwalk. You'll love that area! :D

I love BW.....I'm probably in the vast minority, but the GF does nothing for me. Yes, it's on the monorail. And yes, you take the monorail to Epcot. But you have to transfer for that trip. Not a huge deal, but it's not what I want to do. At BW, I get the more formal feel but it's full of whimsy. I love being able to walk to two parks...or use the boat of I so choose. I love that the Hess station is right across the street....I can grab decently priced snacks and drinks there.
The one thing I do miss is a true quick serve spot at BW. I love food courts to just stop in and grab something quick. But, I also love the GF Cafe....one of my favorite places for breakfast!

I guess it all depends on what you want. I love the moderates....POR in particular. But, I also love being at Pop. I own DVC at BW, so obviously love it there. Also own at BLT. Itvallmdepends on the kind of trip I'm taking.

I would suggest reconsidering a moderate. Yes, you would have to take the bus everywhere. Bit that's not such an awful thing. The rooms are just a bit smaller than deluxe rooms. And you have a food court right there. There's a pretty big difference in cost....and you get a fridge at the mods. Have you looked into POR, or POFQ? Both have a bit more of an upscale feel.
