We have not been to Anaheim in many years. At WDW we have stayed at POFQ and WL and loved them both. I do not wish to take out a mortgage and pay $350 a night for the Grand Californian but do not want a motel 6 either. we are two Grandparents (I am disabled) who want to be very near the parks in a comfortable and clean place. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

I was in the same boat as you and wanted to stay at the Disneyland Hotel but it was booked. Paradise Peir was also booked. The Disney Travel folks recommended and booked us into a "Disney Good Neighbor Hotel". We ended up a the Anaheim Fairfield by Marriott. It's on Harbor Blvd and literally a 5 minute walk from the spot near the entrance where the parking lot trams drop off/pick up folks.

We were there last week from Sunday to Thursday. The staff was courteous and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfy. Our room had 2 queen beds and a 'easy chair' that folded out like a sleep sofa. There's a restaurant on their property that also provides room service (but we never tried it.) There's a little 'food court' inside w/ pizza hut pizzas (like at Target) as well as 'real coffee' (espresso, and other 'fancies'); breakfast sandwiches, assorted snacks, single-serving cereal etc. AND ... on the end of one driveway, there's McDonald's and on the end of hte other driveway is a sit-down restaurant named Mimi's that we liked. (Mimi's is a chain, but there aren't any where we live.)

One minor downside ... I felt the pool was a bit small, but it wasn't peak season of very hot, so it didn't matter to us. When do you plan to go?

We like the candy cane inn. Its a close walk, plus they have their own shuttle that runs every 1/2 hour. They have a nice, free, cont. breakfast. The rooms are a bit small, but they meet our needs.

The Best Western Park Place in gets pretty good reviews and is very close. Howard johnson (hojo) gets good reviews but is a bit further to walk.

Very close to walk way and nice. The main building has an elevator!

We love it there and will stay again!

Have a great trip.
