If money was no object, which resort and room type would you book for an extra special one-night treat?

depends on where i wanna go and eat...money not being a concern, either the boardwalk or the contemporary would be nice. just because of the location and restaurants.

SteepleChase Suite at the BWI!! huge! dining table sits 10, cathedral ceilings in the living room, this has 2 bedrooms, on each end of suite. masterbedroom has a canopy bed king size, and a whirlpool tub, that can fit a few! huge!!
and the porch goes the hole lenght, right above the boardwalk bakery!!!

Ian - are you going to be spending much of either day before or after the night?
For me, a 1-night stay would be so frustrating b/c I'd be leaving before I'd even begun to settle in.
However, to answer your question, I would have to say the Grand Floridian. I would arrive as early as possible, check in to my lagoon view room ;) (having requested Boca Chica) and enjoy the pool or the MK if my room was not yet ready.
I would walk over to the Polynesian for dinner at the Kona Cafe or have dinner at the GF at Citrico's;
I would enjoy walking the grounds of the resort and the festive, gorgeous lobby and sit on my balcony watching the Seven Seas lagoon, and the views of the Contemporary and Magic Kingdom, with the monorail gliding past in the distance, as well as all the boats.
I'd take the monorail to the MK and walk down Main St. and enjoy the park a bit and then take the boat back to the GF when I got tired :teeth:
ENJOY!

I would like to stay one night concierge, savannah view, at AKL. Of course I'd arrive at 6 a.m. and not leave until midnight the following night, no parks, no eating (just room service, maybe Jiko's), just relaxing and enjoying :cool1:

Any where at the GF! If i had the $$$$ I would choose this resort. Everytime I get off the Disney bus and see it in the distance I sigh and think....maybe some day.

After seeing the holiday pictures if the decorations they have there, I would definitely go during the holiday season.

What a treat that would be.

Grand Floridian - Main Building - in one of the suites. Spend the whole day in the hotel and have dinner at Victoria & Albert's.

A dream come true. :cloud9:

Maybe a night at the Boardwalk. Or AKL concierge. Or a FW cabin.

The Boardwalk is just way too out of our price range, and honestly I don't think I'd enjoy it for a long stay anywhere. AKL concierge might be a nice treat but again, I don't know what we'd do with concierge. :confused3

So I guess the best might be a FW cabin. Normally the cabin would just not make sense for us since we are only two people. But they are neat.

AKL with a Savana View!!!!
My DD paid for my DH and I to spend one night there on our last trip. It was wonderful!

hmmm you are making me think - we get back from the 3 day part of our cruise, having done the 4 day land first, but can't make a flight home until Monday afternoon. We have a room book at the airport Econo Lodge - but you are making me rethink this idea. Would it be possible to go back to one of the resorts, I'm thinking Animal Kingdom - would anyone know the price for one night July 10 at the AKL - and is it possible to go from POFQ to the ship, then the shop to AKL, then AKL to the airport? What does everyone think of this new idea, it is feasible and affordable.

5th floor of the Grand Main building. I actual did stay there one night, slept in same bed as Princess Di (and Michael Jackson for that matter, who had a boy with him). Panoramic view of the MK, Contemporary, Poly, with concierge and fresh flowers and big whirlpool tub, bidet, and tv in the bathroom.

kkana Here are the rack rates at AKL for July 10th, which is Value Season at the Deluxes:

Standard View $199
Water or Pool View $225
Savannah View $280

Deluxe
Water or Pool View $285
Savannah View $340

Concierge $435

2 BR Suite $1145

Poly lagoon (castle) view concierge just for the view! It is Disney magic at its best!!!

Concierge at GF! It's the only resort besides Pop and AKL I haven't stayed in -- and we've never stayed Concierge. That would be SUCH a treat!

A suite at the Grand Floridain. The biggest, most expensive suite they have. If I am going to dream, I might as well dream big. :flower:
