DH and I want to go away in mid April for about 4 nights...

want to stay in the U.S....open to anywhere. Want it to be romantic, fun, relaxing (we NEED IT!), and not real expensive..

ANY ideas as to where?

Any great websites to find the deals?

Are you planning to fly? If not, it would help to know what region of the country you live in.

Oh yeah...DUH!

I live in Ohio, we could drive if needed, but we would definitely fly depending on overall cost.

One obvious place we considered is Vegas but want other ideas....
Thanks!!

for a totaly grown up, realy relaxing one-fly into sacramento california and pick up a rental car. drive to calistoga. book the "stress buster" package at dr. wilkinson's hot springs. you get a nice, moderate (very clean, well kept up) room as well as a mud bath, steam, hydrotherapy, blanket wrap and massage.

you just MELT (and you can walk back to your room).

they have a hot sping pool you can hop into and soak (realy nice on a cool spring nite).

you are within walking distance of some of the best restaurants the napa valley has to offer, you can take a short drive to the wineries, go to the california culinary institute, do a day trip to san francisco...

calistoga is very small (vs. napa) and also has loads of bed and breakfast geared to romantic get aways (will pack you a lunch basket to share in their vineyards, arrange a hot air ballon ride, have choc. dipped strawberries and champaign waiting in your room with the fire in the fireplace... ).

you can check on deals by doing a google search on their visitor's bureau.

If you want to drive, how about Chicago? What about Scottsdale? The resorts there are just beautiful, but expensive during high season (not sure what April is). I'm going there on Sunday so I can tell you about it when I get back next week. I also like the Napa idea, though I've never been there.

Try a cabin in the Smoky Mountains, you can get reasonable deal on a 1 bedroom with a hot tub on the deck, plus there are tons of things to do!!

We did this for a long weekend one Easter:

Drive to Valley Forge, PA (King of Prussia) and get a room at the Hilton. They have special weekend rates that are better than the Comfort Inn down the road. They have a couple nice restaurants within and a lounge.

From there, you can day-trip into Philadelphia and see some sights (Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, etc.) at a romantic pace as well as take a horse and buggy ride around the area.

Valley Forge Encampment Park is huge and has lots of room for romantic walks and maybe even a picnic.

There are a lot of romantic get-a-ways in the Ohio area. I will post back when I can find my list from when I last checked into it.

How about a wine country tour? I book a lot of people through on B&B tours of that area.

These ideas are helping....
More please so when hubby gets home tonight I can give him a nice LONG list... ;) :goodvibes

Thanks :flower:

It's in beautiful Lake Tahoe. DH and I stayed there on our honeymoon. Actually Lake Tahoe is a really beautiful place to go. Amazing scenery and yet you still have the casinos and all the nightlife they provide.

Have you ever been to www.travelzoo.com? If you sign up with them they send weekly e-mails listing all the Top 20 travel specials. It was through them that DH and I got a great deal on the Venetian in Las Vegas.
