Going in October and planning on sending the kids to a kids club again this time (the LOVED it last time (as did DH and I!)). Anyway, if you got a night out with your SO, sans kids, which restaurant would you try?

We haven't been to any of them. DH will eat anything. I don't eat meat...do love fish and seafood. And I have never met a veggie that I don't adore!

From your list - Flying Fish. It's one of my favorite restaurants on property. Citricos, Narcoosees or California Grill are also great options. I wouldn't pick Kouzinna (from your list), it was just okay, and if you want to get away from kids/noise, that one isn't an option.
Tutto & Kona are good, but not if you want a nice meal away from your kids. I would stick to a signature restaurant. yes there will be kids (not yours) there but the signatures have better food & atmosphere.

From your list I'd pick Flying Fish but overall, I'd pick bluezoo 100 times over Flying Fish for fish/seafood, adult only dinner.

I loved going out with DH to San Angel Inn. It's dark, the food is good and the ambiance is fantastic. Ask for a seat next to the water.

I voted for Flying Fish. My girlfriend and I usually call our Flying Fish night our "date night" even though we don't have kids, so every night is date night. We call it our date night because after our meal at FF, we walk on the Boardwalk, take in any entertainers that might be out at that time, then we head over to Jellyroll's for some drinks and some tunes. It really makes for a great night. :thumbsup2

A close runner up based on the information you gave would be Jiko. The menu really covers everything for the meat eater to the vegetarian. Not to mention AKL is a beatiful resort. After dinner you can get a drink and sit out and watch the savanah (with or without night vision goggles) or sit at the firepit and just relax.

A third option would be to spend the night walking around the WS and just sample different foods and drinks since you will be there durring F&W. You can make a night of it without having to worry about the kids.

If you're not on Disney Dining Plan, BlueZoo should also be part of your list (so too should Victoria & Albert).

But from your list:

Boardwalk - Flying Fish over Kouzzina.
Monorail - Narcoossee's over Citrico's (because my family loves steamed lobster.....and the best Calamari I've ever eaten....)
Animal Kingdom Hotels - Jiko over Sanna (because of the reviews I've read).

I like Flying Fish well enough, and it's a fun restaurant both in atmosphere and menu selections, but I wouldn't really call it a romantic experience. If that's what you're looking for, I think Jiko would fit the bill a bit better (as long as you're not in one of those common bench booths).

As others have already said, I think bluezoo is a pretty good choice for the two of you, if you're not on the dining plan or are willing to pay out of pocket.

Flying Fish is one of the best restaurant on WDW property, for sure. But is not so "romantic". For this, I would prefer Jiko or Artist Point, which are more quiet venues. Jiko being at AKL, it's far from most parks and WDW hotels. For this, Artist Point may be more convenient (boat from and to the Magic Kingdom) and is likely the most under-rated signature restaurant.

I've never eaten at any of the places you listed, so I can't really offer a good opinion....but I chose Kona because it's on my Disney Bucket List, haha. I am a little partial though, I like pretty much anything having to do with the Poly :rotfl:

I hope you enjoy wherever you decide to go! :)

Well, the only one on your list I've been to is Tutto Italia. It was good but very family oriented (not in a bad way necessarily).

I voted Citricos, it looks nice and I've heard it's a nice dinner for adults. My #1 vote would probably be California Grill, because I hear such great things about it. CG would be perfect for someone who wasn't a big meat eater.

DN20 is going this time so we are going to leave the kids with him one night and have a nite to ourselfs and we decided to try Shula's steakhouse, have never been there, so we will see, also we are staying BWV and it is closer for us to just walk over. We are steak eaters at our house which also played a big role in our decision. But, I'm sure you will enjoy it regardless.

These would be my choices too. FF is my favorite Signature (love the tomato/mozzarella salad, mussels, or cheese plate for an appetizer, char grilled steak or scallops and risotto for an entree, and any of their dessert trios).

Jiko is quieter though, but harder to get to. I love their appetizers and entrees, but am not that fond of any of their desserts.

I also like the idea of noshing around the F&W Festival. My husband and I did this two different nights this past Oct, just sharing a few bites of each item.

for me, i would choose the restaurant w/the closest proximity to the kid's club... i wouldn't leave my kids at a club in one resort and schlep to a completely different area of WDW (i.e. Poly kids' club and go to B'walk for dinner)... i also would not go into a park while my kids were in kids' club...

therefore, i would narrow it down by which kids' club and then stay close to that... however, i was recently reminded that shula's and bluezoo offer 2 free hours of kids' club per adult dining (so two adults, two kids, two free hours for each kid!) at the camp dolphin... that savings ($40) might sway my opinion!

Jiko is quieter though, but harder to get to. I love their appetizers and entrees, but am not that fond of any of their desserts.

We also aren't fond of the desserts at Jiko. Instead after our meal we usually head over to Ghirardelli's (DTD) for ice cream.

I picked Flying Fish, I think it is off the beaten path so when we went with out kids there were few kids there. We ate a tad later then the usual dinner hour and the food was amazing. I love walking around the Boardwalk, very romantic. I love the open kitchen.

From the list it would be Flying Fish.

But I'd go to Blue Zoo or Shula's before that.

Considering all the "variables", IMHO, I would have to say, in this order:
1) Flying Fish
2) Jiko
3) Kouzinna

From the list, voted for Jiko. Simply fantastic dining experience in a wonderful location. Try and get window seating.

Not on the list, but have heard superb things about is Bistro de Paris.

My husband and I are not going to any of the Disney sit-downs. This will be our first trip to Orlando, and I have done a lot of research into resturants. I've read horrible reviews* about Disney sit-downs, and we don't want to risk wasting our money on over-priced park food. In the end we will spend less of our money, get better quality food, we don't give the Mouse as much money, and we help stimulate the local economy in the process. :thumbsup2

*I know that not everyone has the same experience at a resturant, but with the prices that Disney charges at their sit-downs their shouldn't be so many negative reviews of a place.
