the DL board always gives me good advice, so hoping it comes through again :)

celebrating a civil marriage at the courthouse in santa ana, with just the parents, one grandparent, and one sibling, where would you eat?

my first thought was DTD when it was just going to be the two of us (still holding on to reservations at napa rose), but now that it looks like our parents can make it i'm looking elsewhere. my brother has DS/autism and doesn't handle waits very well, so fine dining is out, but i want something that will be more than a chain restaurant. we might still do somewhere in DTD, but it will be a friday evening on a holiday weekend and everyone's favorite hallmark holiday (if i could pick a different date i would) so the crowds are :sad2:

any suggestions are appreciated!

Congratulations!
Will you and your family be visiting Disneyland? If yes, I recommend the Plaza Inn. Their fried chicken is so very delicous.
There are other meals that one may order as well.
If not, perhaps the Rainforest Cafe. I don't know if the audio and animatronics might become a sensory overload for your brother, but hopefully not. Some people like that restaurant, while others do not. For food quality, it receives mixed reviews. And in some cases people swear they got food poisoning. I have dined there just once so far, the food was reasonably good. A bit pricey, for what you receive but not bad. The service was fairly good, however it did take way too long to be served.
But again I've just been that one time.
Now also in Downtown Disney, I have been to the ESPN Zone. Tasty food, and afterwards you can go play games if you like.
The service was very good and our meals were served most promptly.

thank you :)

we will not be going into the parks, because the crowds look like they'll be terrible. i wish we were, but since i'm going to WDW a couple days later, i can't complain!

DF and i loved ESPN zone, and our plan was actually to do napa rose then go over and play games at ESPN zone, then check in at GCH for the night. since we're adding in our families i'm not sure how to do that plan now.

i like rainforest cafe, but i've been many times so it's not somewhere that would feel "special" to me. Dbro loves it too though!

thank you for the suggestions!

Your welcome.
I have also dined at the UVA bar. Very nice menu and tasty food. Great service, very nice host and servers and the time it took to be served our various orders was most excellent.

Steakhouse 55 in DLH is really nice, and their service is pretty quick.

I am not sure how old your brother is but there is cute little "theater" out side the restaurant that can keep home entertained while waiting. Also, a lot of eye candy.

:-)

LOVE Steakhouse 55..... You would do well with Storytellers in the GCH. They have a dinner buffet or you can order off the menu. Very nice in there and not loud and crazy!

What kind of eye candy, please. :)

The hotel is fun to walk around and check out the Autopia Car, the gift shop , pictures in the lobby are always fun to look at. Sometime there are characters walking around the hotel too.

+1 for Steakhouse 55. Tell the Dine Line about your brothers special needs. The service there is excellent and the atmosphere is a bit more casual than Napa Rose.
What about Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen? A table on the balcony provides a nice view (and you can see the fireworks if you time your meal right!) and good people watching. Also, if your brother likes music, there is live music on most nights. Again, if you go with this option, tell the Dine Line about your brother's needs.
Congratulations!
