Alright guys, I need your help once again!

The husband and I are staying from Sunday to Sunday and I need suggestions on one more dinner ADR. We're on the DxDDP so whether you suggest 1TS or a Signature for 2TS, it does not matter. I also would like to know what you think of my times:confused3 My reasoning behind them were that I didn't want to rush out of the parks, if we were having an awesome time, to get to dinner. I also wanted to have enough time to digest our lunch/snacks for the day before we partook in the delights of dinner as well as have enough time to go back to the WL to freshen up befor dinner if we wanted to. So here it is:

Arrival day, Sunday:
California Grill at 5:55pm (I wanted enough time to have a leasurly dinner and then have enough time to get to the Magic Kingdom and watch Wishes from there,)

Monday, Magic Kingdom:
Kona for breakfast, 8:40am
Narcoosie's for dinner at 8:25pm

Tuesday, Epcot
This is Food and Wine Festival day and I didn't make any evening ADR's as I fully intend to eat and drink my way through the park:rotfl:

Wednesday, Hollywood Studios
I was thinking of doing Spoodles for breakfast but have not made an ADR yet (what do you think about this?)
Raglan Road for dinner, 9:00pm (I wanted enough time to see Fantasmic and then get to downtown disney)

Thursday, Epcot again
Flying Fish for dinner at 8:00pm

This is what I have so far. I'm looking for dinner ADR's for Friday night. I was thinking strongly about Jiko's as Friday we'll be at Animal Kingdom. I was also considering Yaughtsman and Artist Point but I'm honestly not sure. What do you guys think? Saturday I wanted to leave open to whatever struck our fancy:wizard: Any advice and opinions would be awesome!

Thanks guys:yay:

First let me say welcome to the boards and I hope you have a wonderful first vacation at WDW.

For your Friday night dinner, I would pick Jiko. Not because it's located near the park you will be at but because it's the best of the signatures. I think it's much much better than both Artist Point and Yachtsman in both the food quality and atmosphere (it's a beautiful restaurant).

I also think Spoodles is a great choice for breakfast. There is not much happening on the boardwalk that early in the day but it's still a beautiful walk along the water to/from DHS.

DH and I plan our days similar to what you are doing. We don't like daytime ADR's that tie us to beng at a certain place at a certain time and we're fine with snacks and counter service options. At night, we like a nice dinner and we book them late.

And it's a requirement to drink at Epcot. So it appears that you have all bases covered.

You are leaving Saturday night open? Just know that if you want a nice table service on Sat night, if you don't book ahead of time, your choices will be limited. Everything has gotten tough to book last minute but I would imagine weekends are even tougher.

Have fun.

Since you're staying at WL, I'd booked AP for either Fri. or Sat., & book Jiko for the other. We haven't eaten at Jiko, but it gets great reviews. We prefer AP to YSH.

If you are doing Jiko, you have to know that it is in Animal Kindom Lodge, not the park.Something else that I had while I there was Boma. It was awesome!!!! It was great!! We loved it.
xoxo

I agree that Jiko is an excellent suggestion. I'd definitely consider Artist Point as well as the food there is also pretty good. The wine list at Jiko is fabulous though... assuming you're into wine. Another suggestion might be Shula's if you want steak.

If you're planning on visiting the Animal Kingdom on Friday, please keep in mind that the AK, due to the heavy foliage, can get quite warm and humid. Therefore, you tire out quite quickly. For that reason alone, you may want to return to your resort and freshen up. We love Jiko the most of all property restaurants, but you're going to travel quite a bit to get there. I suggest you think about AP, the food is very good and you're not leaving your resort. However, if you aren't very tired from your day, Jiko is an excellent choice.

I saw Ragland Road on your list. Awesome! If you've never been, you're in for a treat. Be sure to ask for fresh soda bread (traditional Irish brown bread) and butter before dinner. Sometimes, they don't advertise that they have it, so be sure to ask for it by name. For the entree, I recommend Salmon of Knowledge, which is prepared with a fabulous maple glaze. Yum.

Have you considered Le Cellier in EPCOT? I've only had good experiences there.

Pakey, Thanks for the welcome and well wishes! One of the reasons I wanted to eat at Jiko is because I REALLY wanted to check out the AK Lodge! I would have chosen to stay there but, as it's our first visit, it seemed a bit far from the Magic Kingdom AND the WL seemed more our style! I really can't wait to enjoy a delicious beer/wine or 2 or 3 at epcot....hehe:drinking1

Tarheelmjfam, I think I might book AP for Saturday night. AP isn't really talked about too much on the boards but gets great reviews every time! I figure if we don't want to go we can always cancel.:thumbsup2

Diva122094, I considered Boma for breakfast on our AK day but wanted to get there at rope drop to see if we can get to the first Safari...but the breakfast buffet DID look amazing in all of the 'Food Porn' threads!:rotfl2:

Frothy, Your wine list rave, I think, has sealed the deal for me for Jiko....I love me a delicious glass of wine!!:goodvibes

Dana49, Thanks for the humidity warning! These things are good to know...I live in Central New York so when I think of November, I think Autumn....I know it's always relatively warm in Florida but I hadn't considered the humidity....good advice!!:hippie:

Jiminy1, It's funny because a large portion of my ADR's are Signature but Raglan Road is the one I'm super psyched about! I love salmon and might just have to save my salmon dish for Raglan Road now:yay:

Thanks again guys!:woohoo:

Don't let the chaos of Whispering Canyon Cafe deter you from keeping your AP ADR. Know that just down the hall a bit is tranquility. ;) The atmosphere is as nice as the food. Ask for a window table. They also have a unique wine list representing the Pacific Northwest. You may be interested in a wine flight. Go & see how great it is for yourself. I don't think you'll regret it. :goodvibes

Never been to Jikos but I heard it is great! Let me know how you like it if you do go there!

Excellent ADRS! I also agree that Jiko is an excellent choice, but I have heard that Yachtsman Steakhouse is amazingly great! Have a magical trip!:wizard:

Go with Jiko. The restaurant is gorgeous, and the South African wines are nice. And as you said, you'd like to check out the lodge. If you time it right, you can even listen to the storytelling around the fire before your dinner (that experience is one you won't have back at home!).

Make sure you order the Kenyan coffee BBQ chicken flatbread - awesome!

Another voice here for Jiko, It is our favorite TS restaurant in the world. It is beautiful, relatively quiet, the food is delicious, the wine wonderful and the service perfect. I second the BBQ Chicken Flatbread, it was wonderful.
We do not like YSH and will not return there after 2 tries. I have not eaten in AP
I would also strongly suggest that you book an ADR for Saturday night. It is difficult - if not impossible, to walk into popular restaurants now.
Have you thought of Kona Cafe at the Poly? Dinner followed by a stroll in the romantic grounds and watching Wishes from the beach would be a wonderful last niight.
Whatever you decide have a Great Trip.
