Where would you eat in Epcot?

I just made ADRs for Coral Reef and now I'm having second thoughts. Is it worth it? I checked out the menu on allearsnet and it doesn't seem to be a big selection. It will be me, DH, DS3, DS5, BIL, SIL, Dnieces 8 and 12 and Dnephews 9 and 13. What would you choose?

For the price, and with kids, I'd probably try to do character dining instead, if you think you can handle it. Corralling tons of children who are ecstatic to see mickey or princesses can be tough. The Land in Epcot is quite yummy.

I would say that Beaches & Cream at boardwalk may be good. Just exit out world showcase to boardwalk, and walk back after.

Kids adore getting the kitchen sink.

Either way, you can't go wrong.
Lots of kids love watching the fish, and are always quiet and wellbehaved there. If your kid is picky, the chefs are usually willing to whip up something they'd like.

Lots of choices in Epcot. Try for yourself. :Pinkbounc

Le Cellier is my absolute favorite at Disney....so much that we are eating there twice on our trip in May!

Just wanted to clarify; Beaches & Cream is at at the Beach club :) Right across the lake from the Boardwalk.

I think you're better off some place other then the Coral Reef, unless your kids are really into the fish motif or something. I was pretty dissapointed with the place and it was way too expensive for what I got.. The Garden Grill would be my first choice! Great food, fun character interaction.

If you're looking for a nice meal, I'd stick with Coral Reef. We had a very nice meal there, I was surprised by how good it was, actually. The Aquarium is very enetertaining for kids.

Teppenyaki in Japan is also fun for kids & decent food for adults.

If you like chinese then the 9 Dragons in China is quiet nice, Garden Grill may be worth looking at as the menu has gone back to family style and it is character dining, but it is also a little limited with the food offered.

Actually, the menu we had at Coral Reef was a bit more extensive than the one you saw--
And that fish tank can be very entertaining for the kids!!

We LOVED Teppakanayi in Japan, we wanted to go back we loved the meal so much but the Priority Seatings were all booked.

My kids loved the Coral Reef (as did my DH and I), but like others have said it is pricey. We did the Garden Grill and had a fabulous time. The kids can be a little more free, they loved seeing the characters and there was plenty of food.

My kids also love the Rose and Crown for dinner because they can see the Illuminations from there.

My DD(9) is also saying the Beirgarten(sp) because the show is fun and plenty of food for them to choose from.

With that range of age and size I think Biergarten would be perfect for you :flower: The buffet is wonderful and you all can graze at your own pace. The kids can look around and even get closer to the stage for a look at the ooommp-pah band....you will feel much more relaxed than any of the sit down off-the-menu eateries. LeCellier is fabulous, but it is in a dining room with tables right next to each other--only you guys know the "etiquette" level of your kids at this age. If you want to do a search on this board, you'll find overall 50-50 reviews on the Coral Reef. It certainly isn't one place that gets stand-out reviews. :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

We tried Coral Reef and the food just plain wasn't that good. That's just me though...who knows you might like it. I haven't heard a lot of good/great reviews though.

We don't have kids, so I'm probably not the best person to advice you on a restaurant. But, I can think like a parent. You should try the Land Grille Room. It rotates around Living With the Land boat ride. There are characters and the food is very good.

Or, if you want a World Showcase meal I can tell you our faves are San Angel, Le Cellier, and Alfredos.

Have fun whatever you decide.

I think the Biergarten would be fun. They have all large tables and a great show that kept my kids entertained. We had a really pleasantly enjoyable meal here. It is on our must do list for next time.

Thanks for all the advice. I cancelled Coral Reef. We are orginally from Maryland and are very picky when it comes to seafood anyway. So I decided we should try something else, out of the ordinary. Now I'm trying to decide between San Angel Inn, sounds kind of interesting, or Beirgarten, we almost ate there last time, but opted for the counter service in Germany, the kids were too tired to even eat their hot dogs. My DH and I met in a Bavarian beer garden, where I was a dish washer and he was a cook, so I still have a special fondness for ommpah bands. Do you think we will need ADRs or can we just make them that day for either of those restaurants?

I vote for the Beirgarten -- and definitely make an ADR. The "oompah band" :rotfl: is great fun!!!!

Our Epcot favs are LeCellier for Steak and Alfredo's for Italian. We have also had dinner at San Angelo Inn. But, if you are only going to be at EC for one dinner go with LeCellier or Alfredo's depending on what your traveling party enjoys.

I would agree with the Biergarten suggestions! My kids absolutely love it there (we have eaten there 3x). To this day my kids will hold up their glass and say Ticky Tocky Ticky Tocky Oe Oe Oe :rotfl2: or whatever it is that they say :rotfl:

San Angel Inn is very very very dark.... You almost need a flashlight to see your menu. Okay for kids not the best. I agree with either Germany or Japan.

I personally think Japan is better choice. The kids will be totally entertained by the chef. They make it interesting and fun for the kids cooking everything you eat right in front of you. They have chicken which most kids like as well.

And fun kids drinks. whatever you choose, have fun....

I ate there a while ago(10 years) but it was a character breakfast so I can't say much abouit the food but the atmosphere was great. My son loved eating near a giant aquarium.
