Where would you eat if you had a $33 TS voucher?

Need advice on where to use these. They are good for character meals and hotels, but not DTD.
I am not familiar with TS...we usually do CS.
Thanks.

I've always wanted to try Blue Bayou, even if it's just for the atmosphere. We've been in the parks multiple times and looked longingly at the diners while riding POTC, I just feel guilty bringing my 16 month-old in there and disrupting others :sad1: But, that's the major TS restaurant that I would love to eat at, and since it sounds a little pricey, having a voucher would offset the cost.

Blue Bayou or Cafe Orleans are ones I like, Big Thunder Ranch BBQ is another good one. Remember you don't get change back.

For $33 you can probably get two CS meals.

If this is your one shot to do a nice sit down meal at DL I would definitely pick Blue Bayou. Simply because there is nothing like it anywhere else.

The food at DL in general is spendy so you might not want to pay for BB on your own. But with a credit/voucher it takes the sting out of the bill.

Someone might say Napa Rose in the GCH but it doesn't sound like you are real "foodies" so I would say choose Blue Bayou, hands down!

If you go for lunch there are less options (steak and lobster is on the dinner menu) but lunch is a bit cheaper.

I agree with what others have said; BB would probably be the best use of your voucher because of the hefty price of the food and the totally unique ambiance. Get a waterside table for an added sense of value. :thumbsup2

FWIW, I also really enjoy Carnation Cafe for breakfast/lunch/dinner (not sure when you're visiting, so this will only be an option for you if it's not still undergoing refurbishment) and Storytellers Cafe for lunch/dinner at the GCH.

I really love the Blue Bayou. The food is delicious and I really enjoy watching the boats go by.

Blue Bayou is indeed lovely.
And if someone takes offense to your little one, just use my dear daddy's line: "YOU were a baby once, and YOU bothered people."
It shuts them up every time.

Everyone in our group has a voucher. I think we will get the best bang for our buck at Blue Bayou. I was considering Big Thunder BBQ, but my DD is a really picky eater, and I didn't see anything she would eat there. Blue Bayou has Mac & Cheese, and that is always a favorite.
We are going at the end of this month, so we are unable to go to Carnation Cafe.
Thank you for your input.

Just so you are clear, that $33 TS voucher doesn't cover a full meal. It gives you $33 of credit toward any meal, TS, CS or snacks.

It's quite possible you could go into Blue Bayou and you total bill with tax is going to be $98. So you could pay with three $33vouchers, and apply the extra $1 in value toward the tip. Still having another voucher left over for another meal.

Yes. I am aware it is a credit of $33 regardless of where we use it to eat. The more I look into it, it appears we maybe losing money if we dined anywhere else (besides a character meal).

Is it a character meal voucher? Because if it is, and you use it for a character meal it'll include tax and tip, not matter what the total is and even if the total would equal more than the $33. If you use it for any other meal you will just get the $33 credit.

You shouldn't feel guilty taking your LO into BB, I've eaten there with plenty of kids before. :)

OP I would go with BB, it will give you the best bang for your voucher. :)

I'm still getting used to the whole DLR dining voucher thing so forgive me. We will have the dining vouchers when we visit in June (Minnie's 4 day dining plan). We are going to have breakfast one morning at the Minnie & Friends breakfast and then a princess character meal at Ariel's Grotto over at DCA another day. So you're saying with those 2 meals I don't need to worry about the price of the meals, just plan on using the vouchers (regular character meal voucher for Minnie, premium character meal voucher for Ariel) and that also includes tax & tip? Sorry, not trying to sound like a newb (which I am). Just trying to plan out the budget and I need to know where to plan on spending my cash and what the vouchers will cover.

BTW, I made my ADR today to have lunch at Blue Bayou on June 5th. So excited!

Thanks.

That's correct, because they are buffes/price fixe meals the regular character meal voucher will cover Minnie and Friends the premium voucher covers Ariels.

As mentioned above they also have a cash value assigned to them. So it isn't required to use them at character meals, you can use them elsewhere as I explained above.

For Character meals it includes tax and tip. We also have ADRs for Ariel's, Minnie's and GK. It will be nice to do something a little more low key in DL so BB is the one.
