:goodvibesIm starting to think about my dining ressies to decide before we go, im wondering if any of you have been anywhere on property or off for new year.
Any suggestions?

were having christmas day at home in the villa (bringing mum to cook!), im sure the parks will be way crowded!

I love Epcot for NYE, it's vibrant and fun. My fav restaurant in Epcot is Le Cellier as the food is great and the staff wonderful. It depends what you think you'll fancy. I would book as soon as you can though as the restaurants get very booked up.

Wherever you go you'll love it:thumbsup2

The last two years we have been to Epcot for NYE, it's crowded but we tend to just go and soak up the atmosphere and the fantastic fireworks that go on .

Been there for 5 NYE's everyone in Epcot, if we go again I am sure it would be Epcot again.
Don't go expecting to do lots, Soarin's line exceeded 6 hours this last NYE, just go for the atmosphere. We get to "UK" for 7pm(midnight at home) then watch 7:30 fireworks and out for a meal. We then used to goto DTD to see PI firworks but no more.
After spending 5 Xmas/NY there we are giving that time of year a miss for a few years, this time was busiest we have encountered.

this will be our first time at xmas new/year, were theres from 12th dec till 7 jan so intend to do parks the first week ish and last few days and aviod the busy xmas week.
Epcot sounds like the popular choice

We like the Hollywood Studios for NYE. It isn't as crowded as the other parks. We have a nice meal at Hollywood Brown Derby, watch the last Fantasmic of the year then get a spot for the fireworks.

Another shout for EPCOT - did it a few years ago and it was great - dealt with the crowds really well. As with 4th July, MK run their fireworks the night before as well.

The line of traffic driving in to Epcot last year was that long that it stretching out onto the main road, so they were just waving everyone through the parking booths - nobody had to pay to park. We left the park at about 10pm due to it being our 1st day and everyone being exhausted and there were cars parked on the grass verges and all sorts - never seen anything like it at Disney!

I saw that 6 hour wait for Soarin too Wayne ~ Crazy!

I'm planning on going to Epcot.

So are we. :yay: We're not going to worry about the crowds and queues, we just want to be there to enjoy the atmosphere and to celebrate New Year in each country. :goodvibes

I think we might leave after UK NY though as I don't think my parents could cope with 0900 to 0100 in a theme park so hope to get a ADR at CG for 9pm ish.

What a lovely way to finish off your evening. :goodvibes

I don't know how long we'll last after the UK NY. Our DDs will all be teenagers by then so it won't be them who'll be calling time, it'll be me and DH who can't stand the pace!! :rotfl:

Last year MK did their NY celebration on the 30th as well as the 31st, so I celebrated it at MK then did Epcot on the 31st. I have to say, both were absolutely amazing. I was at the UK pavilion at 7pm celebrating UK new year, then again at 12 celebrating the US new year.
Have to say I preferred the MK NY fireworks, though both were amazing.

We were at Epcot for NYE 2008 and it was packed, but we loved every minute of it. The at atmosphere was brilliant, we had dinner booked at the Rose and Crown for 6.30pm so we were there for 7pm which was midnight at home:thumbsup2. This was taken just before we ate outside R & C

I've not been myself, but my brother always goes to Hollywood Studios and has a great time. :goodvibes
