Once in Texas I used tap water. WTAF is in their water?? It tasted like I brewed ground up pennys with my coffee. We always use bottled water.

I have the Hario V60Glad to find I’m not the only one who can’t do the in-room Joffrey’s coffee anymore. K-Cup or drip pot, the coffee just isn’t a good blend. Doesn’t matter what strength. And I used to like the Joffrey stands well enough, but after getting many more misses than hits that is now also off my list. I forgot to bring my aeropress last time. Turned out DH was over the Joffrey’s too and I woke up the first morning at BPK/VGF to DH unpackaging a Keurig and pods bought at Walmart because the drip Joffrey’s was so so sad. We ended up putting it in the bathroom to use next to the 2nd sinkAnd left it behind. Housekeeping must’ve thought we were crazy!
I’m pretty sure that coffee has changed over the years. At least in the parks and resorts.
My son has a decent hario v60 he offered for me to bring next time. Then he needs to let me take the fancy hand grinder and scale too! Thanks son![]()
I do! I write down all my room numbers for future reference. It was 1611. I think the 1 bedroom connected was 1609.Do you remember the room number? We're planning to stay there February! It's ok if not I'll start looking in touringplans!
Just try to avoid deluxe studio 1221 at VGFI do! I write down all my room numbers for future reference. It was 1611. I think think the 1 bedroom connected was 1609.![]()
Ohhh! I’ll put that in my notes! What the issue if you don’t mind sharing?Just try to avoid deluxe studio 1221 at VGF![]()
Your balcony view is the back of the porte cochere. All red roof shinglesOhhh! I’ll put that in my notes! What the issue if you don’t mind sharing?
EXACTLY! The one-bedroom isn't as bad if you have a two-bedroom lock-off. You at least see the monorail. It's just that ONE studio.
Yikes! Last year I was in deluxe studio 1228. It’s the room at the corner closest to the monorail track…eye level…early morning coffee in the robe on the balcony got a little awkward when the rope droppers on the monorail were parked in front of me waiting for the monorail ahead of them to pull out of the GF station.Your balcony view is the back of the porte cochere. Thanks for posting this. I’ll put that in my notes so I’m prepared if that’s the number that pops up when I get the room’s ready text!

Seriously! We've been on DCL cruise only once and I couldn't drink their self serve coffee. I really tried so I wouldn't have to run up to Cove and pay for an americano. But on the 2nd day after breakfast I gave up and started paying for americanoAfter doing DVC cruises, I really think there is someone high up at Disney who doesn’t know that coffee is different from coffee flavored water. My husband is in charge of morning coffee (and hopefully checking for mold) because he wakes up 1-2 hours before me, but he will often just go to the lobby and get stuff from the Marketplace at BCV or the cafeteria place at VGC.
He did make the 70th blend in our room a few weeks ago— I was so excited about it but didn’t actually like it. Maybe 1/2 water would help.
I never see anybody talking about this here, but the tap water at several DVC resorts can be quite funky— I wonder if that’s part of why Joffrey’s tastes better elsewhere (if they are using better filters).
We always use bottled water.
I haven’t ever had an issue with the coffee makers, but if I did, I would request a new one. We do drip coffee everyday (using filtered Brita water). I could be convinced to do Nespresso though. Amazon keeps trying to sell me a portable Nespresso maker. It is tiny and looks incredible. Keurig cups are trash. Sorry if you like them…I think the coffee they make is honestly worse than Joffrey’s.If I can't see anything suspicious, then run it through with hot water (like brew hot water) a few times before using it.
Your family gotta be all coffee lovers. You guys have fancy coffee toys! I love it!Glad to find I’m not the only one who can’t do the in-room Joffrey’s coffee anymore. Strong message for sure!We ended up putting it in the bathroom to use next to the 2nd sinkAnd left it behind. Housekeeping must’ve thought we were crazy!
I went down the coffee rabbit hole. Hario V60 cheap, kettle decent price, carafe cheap, scale cheap = not so cheap. My husband talked so much crap about it while watching you tube videos with me about making coffee I now have to use it to save face. It not nearly as easy as just popping in a nesresso pod.Your family gotta be all coffee lovers. You guys have fancy coffee toys! I love it!my husband has an aeropress too, no idea which one, in fact I think he has a couple different ones. He likes espresso I like my black drip. But if he doesn't feel like bringing his aeropress then I'll have to bring extra single serve pour over.
I have wanted to buy a Hario before, but then I would want the whole setup with the kettle and scale...and I'm not sure if I will use it enough. Also, the beans I buy for pour over won't be just any beans, and I didn't want to get down to a rabbit hole with coffee!Might go broke just buying fancy beans!
Strong message for sure!![]()
Not a fan of Keurig pods either. We had a machine long time ago and I tried a few, decided fairly quickly that wasn't for me. Hubsand is less picky than me so it became his coffee maker and I went back to good ol' Cuisinart coffee makerI haven’t ever had an issue with the coffee makers, but if I did, I would request a new one. True but if you have good beans, the work is worth it. If I am willing to put the effort in to make coffee everyday, I would choose pour over any day. I also feel guilty from time to time when we buy a bulk of Nespresso pods, instead of buying beans from local roasters and help out local small businesses. But I do like the variety though, and that is why we have the machines to begin with.I went down the coffee rabbit hole. Pour over w/ good coffee can be an art form. I was shocked at how many video there on your tube about it. Im still in the learning curve and haven't nailed it down just yet.True but if you have good beans, the work is worth it. French press, burr grinder, & fresh beans or it’s not worth it. Just bring some Steven Smith Tea.Pour over w/ good coffee can be an art form. I was shocked at how many video there on your tube about it. Im still in the learning curve and haven't nailed it down just yet.
