I resisted the texting thing quite a bit at first, but you are right in that a lot of times that is the only way you will ever get a response from teenagers! In Rosie's case, I will text her sometimes when I want to get her a message (like Happy Birthday) but you just aren't sure if she is working night's or got called in to work during the night due to an issue, and is trying to sleep! At her age I don't want to disturb her.......... she needs all the sleep she can get!

You know at some point she's going to read this comment, right?? Stiring the pot already Marv....

P.S. and even the kids don't respond to texts very timely... usually my DS... frustrating!!

Well, I guess the way Rosie's day has gone so far, it really isn't safe to assume anything.........

well at least we know she's landed ....inquiring minds what to know... did she do a spot of pole dancing on the fake monorail?

I guess we will have to wait and see about the pole dance. I'm guessing she might not have since her whole schedule was thrown off with the flight leaving late. I think they were hoping to be there before lunch and eat early before making it to the hotel. With the flight not getting there until after 1:30, by the time they got their luggage and car, I'm guessing they were really hungry and probably didn't get to eat until maybe 2:30-3:00 range. I would guess that has messed up their whole schedule for the day.

News!

In a nutshell: They made it to MCO, although a bit confusing arriving at a different terminal, of course eventually found luggage. Decided to upgrade the car - ya know the dilemma - should they carry suitcases on their laps or upgrade? Then managed to get incredibly lost on the way the way to the hotel Not to worry! When Rosie called everyone else was in the hot tub (or was it the pool) and she was about to join them.

Enjoyed a nice meal at "Perkins" - is that chain? Sounds like the kids are excited for all the dining options nearby, especially Golden Corral. Have never eaten there so no idea why it is so popular, but happy for them!

Tomorrow will be a full day at Universal! That's the latest....unless Marv has spoken with Rosie in the last hour.

I got the Perkins then shopping text. I was wondering if they were going to make it to the park since it was so late and they had such a long day.
Glad to hear they just enjoyed the pool and relaxed.

Rosie is out doing herself with texts this trip!! It does become second nature after a bit.

I forgot about the shopping - I am the least reliable reporter as I forget almost as soon as I hear it - makes it easy to keep a secret though!

Chatting with Rosie - they had a great day at Universal....did everything other than Men in Black which they didn't want to do anyway. Tomorrow is Islands of Adventure. Light crowds so far - Rosie said they haven't really waited a long time for anything.

I was laughing so hard.... a Grannie was needed so Judy volunteered one and raised Rosie's hand...was she chosen?? Wait for the TR!

Everyone is having fun...all fed and now enjoying a swim in the warm Florida evening.

(Someone posted pics on FB of HS this week and the place is empty! Must remember a couple of weeks after Easter it quiets down...might be a nice time to go with Sophia before she is in first grade. )

Yes, I originally sent Rosie a text for a safe trip, not expecting to hear anything back but got numerous texts back in return! I also got a couple of phone calls from her since she left for her trip!

That is horrible. I wonder if the Diabetes is just temporary or permanent because of the drug interaction. Either way the hospital should be doing everything to help her out since they caused that.
Thanks for the update. So I missed the send off- Have a great trip Rosie and don't stay out of trouble, it is more fun that way.

The diabetes is permanent !! Had the local ER been more on the ball, it might not have gotten so bad !!Had I have known she was even on Lamictal I might have suspected that as I have seen some weird side effects from that drug!!

Sorry to learn that Rosie's flight is delayed checking Buffalo's weather indicates that it is foggy ....Occasional showers late morning.. and the same for afternoon with thunderstorms possible. Heavy rain is around the area. Hope the flight will manage to take off today.



I think that one is a given with our Rosie!!

The weather in Buffalo was not the problem!! It was just cold as usual and a little windy!!

STALKER!!!

Rosie texted me that the flight coming in from NY was delayed due to bad weather, which is what was delaying their departure. She mentioned it as a "West Coast flight" so maybe it was a red-eye flight from west coast to NY that was flying on to Buffalo and then to Florida that they were supposed to be on???

Yes that was the explanation we were given Bad weather on the WEST COAST delayed the red eye , and so delayed our flight

If any of you know Rosie real well, you will know that she does not like texting on her phone. She has actually called me a couple of times when I texted her to give her a message because of how much she doesn't like it.

Well, I guess our dear Rosie is getting Tech Savvy (or one of the kids did it for her ), because she just sent me not just a text message, but a picture of her plane sitting at the gate preparing for them to board!!!

I will have you know Mr Elous !! That I first copied your number from my contacts , then took the pix and sent it to you with NO help from the kids

Yikes!! This kind of struck me as kind of funny ... and something that Kramer (from Seinfeld) might have gone on about.....



when a friend of mine got her cell phone I had asked her, "can you text" she answered, "no, but I do answer my phone!" LOL... Guess I'm too used to teenagers NOT answering calls, only responding to texts...



And yes Marv it does seem like Rosie is using the kids for some tech support. Hopefully the plane manages to leave the gate as well.
