Where will Rosie Roam in 2013. Day 2 Epcot updated 10/14

Did anyone win at slots? Great group pictures. I'm glad you all enjoyed the show. Did you get to sit on Elvis' lap?

So far so good Rosie. I think you saw more than I did the last 2 times I was there. :lmao:

Flamingoes at the Flamingo.... Go figure!!! :rotfl2:

I am glad the whole group is still together - no one wandered off yet.

The Legends show followed by a trip to Paris sounds like a winner!

Is is pool time yet? :rotfl:

Rosie, I read about this on another website and thought about you immediately: It seems that there is a huge change coming to the GAC system. I searched and there is a thread about it here on the DIS:

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=49587847&postcount=2

When I read about it, I immediately thought about you as it will most likely affect your October trip!

Very surprising to read that DL AP holders use the GAC as a fast pass. :sad2: I was an AP holder for years and it never would have occurred to me to use a program meant for those who need help. It is extremely disappointing to learn that some AP holders actually abuse a system meant to help others - or to hear of anyone doing such a thing.

While I applaud Disney for doing whatever it takes to rid the abuse, the article does sound like it is going to make it more difficult for those with certain challenges and /or disabilities. I have MS and have never used the GAC - but there are certain attractions where it is helpful to have an entrance/exit without stairs. When I was in a wheelchair one visit, only one attraction (TSM) moved us from the regular line and took us to an elevator up to a special boarding area...which was nice because I never felt I was going to the head of the line for most attractions; it makes me uncomfortable to go ahead of those who have been waiting.

How thoughtful, Magdalene, to think of Rosie and her P&P trips. :goodvibes

Because of the abuse of the GAC card changes had to be made. I think this will take some getting used to as change does but overall hopefully this will make everything easier in the long run.

I do believe with FP+ and better accessibility in the queues as required by ADA the new system will be limited to those cases in that it is truly needed.
I am sure Rosie and I will give an honest assessment of the system and like every system I expect a few kinks since we will be there soon after the implementation.

There are truly some conditions that warrant a short wait in a queue, but I don't necessarily think a "go to the front of the line immediately " pass is always warranted. In fact sometimes that in itself takes away from the experience of the queue. :)
Perhaps the FP+ will have a Special needs component for additional FP to meet the guests needs. :confused3

Carol won 56 on the penny slots !!! According to several of the guys they won too !!! Her's how they "win" put in $5 play a while then press the cash out buttn and get let's say 10c back and you have won :rotfl2::rotfl2:Got to LOVE them :rotfl2:

Good I get to bend your ear this trip and as I read your TR because I get to go back to Vegas next year for the conference.

Maybe I can use my time to actually see more although by myself I feel safest in the room. I do the social event with the conference but do not really go out much unless I am in a large group. Unlike Disney where I wander at will.:lmao:

Oh Boy that is gonna make things very hard !!! I have a feeling there will be huge protests from The Intellectually Disabled powers . as many of our guys can't wait in the long lines for many reasons !!! I will e calling Special Needs any way so will get more info then !!I sorts agree that the abuse was ridiculous !!Basically if you asked you got one !!

Thanksfor the heads up!!!

No we never made it too the pool !!None really asked and it was HOT to be out in the sun for any length of time !!

I would have preferred they simply just asked for proof of the disability , with our guys that would be easy !!The biggest problem will be if there is a LONG wait , behavior issues will arise!!!!

Consider yourself warned....I have the same issues if there is a LONG wait!!! ;) :furious: ;)

Do hope they have arrangements that will be helpful for your group, Rosie. :goodvibes

I think Disney knows that and will review everyone on a case by case basis. The photo card and the fact the (now) DAS person need to ride to use the pass for the party will help in cutting down on abuse.

In some ways there will be a wait but you will not wait in line. You will get a return time. My concern is the proposed back and forth to the kiosk for another pass time. For some that alone will be a deal breaker.

Hi Rosie! Looks like you're all off to a roaring good start! We love the Flamingo - stayed there a few times with relatives. It just has a fun old fashioned feel to it. The buffet looked good, and I'm glad some of your guys "won". :rotfl2:

There is a lot of Free things to do , and I think I would enjoy it more without a group of DD!!It is a little toooooo busy !! I could easily see mysef going up and down the strip on the Deuce , checking out each hotel !!! If you haven't been to te M &M store you really should !! You will see more as my TR progresses !!

I am gonna call Specia needs early next month and see if they have any info !!! Plus of course the same floor request !!

Bless their hearts !! I was so happy hey WON!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hi Rosie- I will be getting a magic band :cool1: I got the notice yesterday. Looking forward to hearing about plans now that we are getting close.

I am reading conflicting things about the GA and WDW. Some say it is rolling out at both parks and some say only DL and CA. :confused3

Hope you get a chance to call Gest Services to ask and find out.

Not sure if your crew is supposed to get Magic bands too and if they do how will that work with your group?

Be sure to ask if there is a better way to do DDP. Having to scan each card for the CS meals is a pain.

I ahve to get the # again from a Dis friend of mine but I will be calling and have a lot of questions!! I already prewarned Carol . She said a better way to go would have been to ask for a Doctors note detailing the disability and it's limitations as far as Disney went . I never get one for myself although my artritis makes it very hard to just stand in a line for long , I am okay walking but my back and knees rebel painfully when just standing !! Stairs are , let's say VERY difficult ,but I know from working with the MR population that few of them tolerate long crowded lines well :scared1::scared1: Have to remember many function at childlike ages and they may have had 60 years practise of being a 6 year old !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:
