Hi!

My family has yet to book airfare even though our trip starts July 28th!! Can someone give me links to get the best airfare other than the offical airline sites? Any help would be great!

Thanks in advance
Mike

If you don't care what time you leave, try Hotwire.com I haven't seen anyone beat their prices. You have to be flexible though because you can't choose your departure time. Otherwise, as suggested above --Orbitz is pretty good.

Good Luck!

You may also want to try the individual airline websites. Southwest, for example, doesn't participate in sites like Orbitz and they offer specials Tues-Thurs. Spirit air has cyber specials listed Fri-Sun. Orbitz is good, but they charge a fee-I look at them for the best price and then see if I can match the price for that same flight on that airlines website and save myself the fee!
Another site to try is bestfares.com.

I've used Southwest the last three times I've flown down to Florida. The flight is very quick from here in Norfolk and has always been the best deal when I needed it (late Oct - Early November and once in mid-April).

Before I book with them, I always check with travelocity.com for prices and Expedia.com to see what other flights are available.

Good luck to you! :jester:

We got the best deal directly through Delta.com this time. You have to check periodically through the day, if you can, sometimes they lower the price during the day and it will only last alittle while. Also I found on Delta website, if you find a good rate, don't clear out, you can lose that price. I found this to happen on some of the other websites. Good Luck!

I normally goto Orbitz first, check out the ballpark figure. Then go to Travelocity or Expedia to check for the real rate. (Orbitz has old price, and doesn't list all the flights). Expedia usually has cheaper rate. Not sure why.

I'd also check out the official site once you have a pretty close idea which one you're going to fly. I once get the cheapest deal on Delta.com flying to HH. I am going in mid-July, and willing to pay a little more for JetBlue, just because they're non stop, and time is better suited for me.

You can also check www.cheaptickets.com or www.sidestep.com. I've also used orbitz to find the best fare and then go directly to the airline site and book though them.
Good luck, I'm going through the same thing our trip is at the end of next month though, but still going crazy over the rise and fall of ticket prices every 12 hours!!!!
