Where/when should we do breakfast?

My first thought was we would grab a croissant or similar at the hotel, POFQ, before heading to the park. Then I started thinking again....

Anyone know what time the resort restaurants open? Will we be able to get there early enough and still catch the bus in time for rope drop? Would we be better off going straight to the park and grabbing a bite once we get there? What is the best way to maximize our time?

I think some of them seat you as early as 7 am, but the only TS breakfast we have had and still made ropedrop was Kona Cafe at the Poly. Even when we have had very early ADRs at Chef Mickey's, it just took too long (partially our fault for wanting to see all the characters). If we want to have a nice breakfast, we schedule the latest possible time and hit the parks first, then have a late breakfast.

If you are travelling with children and would like to have pictures and meet characters, then a character breakfast is a good way to go. We really enjoy Crystal Palace and Tusker House. You can schedule your breakfast for before the parks open, eat, meet characters, and then enjoy the park. Otherwise I think all of the resorts have restaurants with breakfasts.

My husband and I just returned from a trip without the kids and we would just have coffee in the room, be at the park when it opened, ride a couple of rides, and then have juice and a pastry for a late breakfast. One morning we shared the breakfast platter at Sunshine Seasons at Epcot and it was good too.

We won't do any table service breakfasts. We are using all our TS credits on dinner. I have dinner reserved at Cindy's castle and that is enough dinner with characters for us. We just want a quick breakfast. DH is a grouch until he gets food in him. The restaurant at POFQ is quick service, mostly wondering if we can get through there in time and still make it at rope drop.
