Where/when get Magic Band with paper tickets?

My MIL bought 5-day tickets off Undercover Tourist and we're staying offsite. We already have AP MBs, but when/how do we get hers? We can't do it at the hotel obviously, so do they give them out at the front ticket counter of MK? I already linked her tickets to her MDE and made her FP reservations weeks ago. I thought they might have sent her a MB in the mail, but it never came.

Since she's staying offsite she'll have to buy one. She can buy one in the parks or at the Disney Store.

They don't "give them out", except to hotel guests. Nor do they have them at Guest Relations. There are several gift shops in the parks and Downtown Disney that sell them for about $13 (I think some of the special editions go up to $30). When you purchase one they can take your paper/plastic ticket and link it to the MB.

If you have plenty of time prior to your trip, it may be possible to mail order one, then do the linking in MDE.

Also there is no such thing as paper tickets anymore. It is a plastic card that works exactly the same as a magic band. It's not worth spending the $13 on a magic band, just use the card.

Thanks, all. I don't know what she got in the mail...I assumed it was paper, but I guess it was a card. She doesn't need a band for anything except her fastpasses. If the card will work for that, great. I'm sure she won't want to waste the money either.

Yeah, the card will work fine for Fastpasses...since they're already linked into MDE, she should be ready to go.

yes, the card works just like the bands. you can buy the bands on the disney store website too
