Where were you when you heard the Gulf War of 1991 started?

I remember it vividly. My son had just turned 2 years old. I had gone to the local mini mart for an ice cream treat for the family. They had a TV on there and the news broke. I headed home and as soon as I walked in the door I lost it and completely broke in to tears!

Even I was surprised at my emotion. We were expecting it to happen (just like now) but it still hit me hard when it was reality.
:(

I think I was at confirmation class - or some youth church activity.

On my way to view slides of the shots our wedding photographer took so we could choose which ones we were buying. It really took the fun out of it.

Was at a Monto Carlo fund raiser with another couple when his wife got paged from the newspaper she worked for at the time

in the car on my way to my horseback riding lesson, listening to npr.

In the family room of my parents house, with my then bf. We had gone to Brighams to get icecream for dessert and then we were watching tv and eating it.

At home with my DH and DS.One of my best friends was in the Army at that time and was over there.I'm glad in a way he;s no longer in the service, but I understand how badly he wants to rejoin(not able to because of bad knees)now.

If I remember, it was a Wednesday night, and I was working at the church nursery. One of the parents told us.

Teaching a confirmation class at my Church..it was awful so many kids here are military related, they were all crying and wanted to go home..so did I...:(

Tykes did you happen to be at Confirmation Class in Virginia then?? Maybe you were in my Class...:)

Heard it on the car radio on the way home from shopping at Freddy’s.

I had an early evening appointment and when I left my car and went in to see my client, CNN was still talking about the deadline having just passed. When I came out to my car, about 2 hours later, CNN was reporting that Bagdad skies were looking like the 4th of July. I honestly wept, alone in the car, for quite some time, while driving home. As said, it was expected, the President had drawn the line in the sand, but still, when it happened, it was so very emotional. :( :o

I was still living with my parents in GA while going to college. I was at home, probably studying, when a buddy called me and said "turn on the tv, it's started." I was glued to CNN that whole night.

I was in the car with my father driving home from work, we heard it on the radio. I still remember being in disbelief and hoping I heard wrong.:(

Okay, I am balling like a baby thinking back- and ahead of what may be.

I was watching tv and talking to my friend in NH before heading out to choir practice.

I remember seeking out my pastor at church. He was very much against war (still is) and I remember trying to tell him that it wasn't his fault (He takes some stuff a bit too personally).

I was in my bedroom studying for my anatomy physiology class.

Oh, I remember this one! It was right after dinner, I was on the floor playing with DS who was around 1 year old, news on in the background. DS took his first steps walking, DH and I are all excited, and then we hear Peter Jennings talking about the war and showing the video of what was going on. Talk about conflicting emotions!

I was on vacation at Walt Disney World. I can still remember the drive back to Wisconsin. There were lots of people standing on overpasses holding flags, mostly in the southern states.
