where were the displaced Floridians staying last wk?

I know MILs Melbourne/Barefoot Bay home did not have electricity wknd of Oct 1st. She stayed w/us at VWL & CB until this past Sun when we flew home.
She went back to her home and electricity had been turned back on. FEMA was still there giving out hot meals.

So where were the other displaced Floridians staying?

My friend and family who moved to Celebration last May stayed at the WL for the first hurricane and then at a new complex outside of Disney for the second hurricane that came Orlando way ( I forget the names of the storms).
They were intending to stay at AKL for the second storm, but it was already booked full.
The complex they ended up staying was absolutely beautiful, they said, and they really enjoyed it.

All of our friends who were displaced by the storms are now back in their homes with power, and have been since around 10/2. Only one is still on a boil water order. Even in Vero, where they had been told no power until at least the 15th, then the 9th, most had it restored by the 4th.

Although many have damage, it's now patched up enough to make the house livable until permanent repairs are made. So in answer to your question, I don't think there are many displcaed people still at WDW, and don't think there have been for a couple weeks now.

We have two sets of friends who have neighbors whose homes were totally destroyed, those people are not in hotels, they are with friends/family.

We were fine. Ask TC to tell you the story about her neighbors on the roof in the middle of the storm though

I'm not sure about the Floridians, but my DH works for Alabama Power Co. and they stayed at ASMu from Sept. 30 - Oct. 5 while they were working in Melborne. I was so jealous!
