Well, we sure ate good. We shared all our vouchers, the food was so plentiful. Tax and tip was always paid for by the vouchers.
Quick and Casual vouchers were $11.00, and the Lunch vouchers were $29.50 through connections. We joined for a month through My Points.
Rain Forest Cafe:
We started out using a Lunch voucher at Rain Forest (good only at the AK RF). We were told we could use it all day..but we used it at lunch time, so we didn't check that out.
We had the Blue Crab Delight dip as an appetizer, and the stuffed lobsters, along with a smoothie for our drink, and banana Foster for dessert. All the food was wonderful..and the price would have been about $50 plus tax and tip.
Concourse Steakhouse:
Lunch voucher..our only semi disappointment.food was just "OK".
Fried Crabcakes (2 small cakes)..mango sauce was good..the cakes were a little greasy, and not as tasty as at the Rainforest. Service was just OK.
8 oz. grilled filet mignon..steak was OK, and potatoes were almost runny. Bread was good.
Double chocolate cake was prob the only item we didn't finish in DW! It was sort of hard..maybe it was stale? Cost ~$37.00 plus tax and tip.
Beaches & Cream,
Quick and Casual :
Once again we were told the voucher has changed, so although we still got great value, it wasn't as good as the past. Since their food comes with a side, you can no longer pick out another side. This night we got a smoothie (I love the Creamsycle smoothie, and they split it so nicely..we both get a full one!), the Prime Rib (w/FF or fruit), and we split a banana spit (at this time we could have gotten a Kitchen sink, but we along with others were being told that once the new vouchers come out, they will be excluded..who know's if it's true). Cost..~$23.00 plus tax and tip
Rain Forest Cafe:
Lunch Voucher:
Big Blue Crab Delight - Creamy homemade dip loaded with tender crabmeat and served with crispy tortilla chips for dipping, Surf & Turf (not on the menu..I heard about it here)..one of the stufed lobsters, and steak (our waiter suggested Primo..not sure what kind it was, but it was wonderful). Came with the usual rice and veggies, Banana Foster, and a smoothie. No idea what the price was, since it wasn't on the menu..but I'm betting it was up there. Wonderful!!
Beaches & Cream
Quick and Casual:
Bowl of Chilli (large bowl..a meal in itself), and Caesar Salad with chicken, smoothie, and banana split. Cost ~$27.00 plus tax and tip.
Coronado Springs...Peppermarket.
Quick & Casual
This is one of the most confusing places to eat, as it seems very few speak English, or know how the vouchers work. Our server told us to pick one entree, one salad (she said any salad, but she was wrong..you can only get a side salad..although since our meal comes with sides, I don't know why you can even get that), and a dessert..she said a muffin, but we got cake. In any case, it was a good deal, and the food was wonderful..we would eat here without a voucher, although some of the items are expensive. You get plenty to share..so for two people the prices are reasonable.
We got the beef fajitas (enough for three), with rice and beans. A side salad (made with lots of different items, and large), and cake for dessert. Drink was just pop or coffee..hubby got the coffee. Cost ~$20.00 plus tax and tip for lunch.
A note about this place..your "fixins" are near each station..for instance with the salad, your bread and butter are included..with the grilled food, they have pickle and sour cream near it, and for the Mexican food, they have salsa, sour cream, etc near it. It took a little searching to find as no one seemed to understand what we were looking for, or speak English, as I mentioned.
Rain Forest Cafe:
Lunch Voucher:
Appetizer was crab cakes..very good! We ordered the Surf & Turf, (shrimp scampi, cocnut shrimp, and steak..first thing waiter asked was if we would like to upgrade our steak to filet mignon..we said yes..great choice!!). Cappuccino for hubby (so not worth it..coffee with a little whipped cream on top, which instantly fell in the coffee), and Key Lime Pie (yummy!!) Cost: ~$45.00
Coronada Springs, Peppermarket
Quick and Casual
We had the Carved Roast of the Day..which was prime rib (although we had a little problem ordering it, since the person behind the counter didn't speak English and kept trying to give us the rib eye), which came with baked potato and grilled vegggies (it said choice of two sides...but they didn't give a choice..lucky for us they picked good ones!). It was wonderful, and more than enough to share. We also got a side salad, although I don't know why. We got a strawberry shortcake type dessert..again, yummy!
Cost ~$29.00 plus tax and tip.
Beaches & Cream
Quick and Casual:
Smoothie (we really liked them!), single hamburger w/fries, banana split. Cost: ~ $19.00 plus tax and tip.
We ended our trip with a meal at Clam Bake at Cape May, at the Beach Club. After sharing meals all week, we really over stuffed ourselves. Everything was great as usual, except we missed the grilled veggies and the cheese station they normally have. Everything was wonderful here..and the price is reasonable without using any vouchers (which they do not accept). I'd like to say that once we were full, we just leaned back and stopped eating..but that would be a lie..we stuffed ourselves so much, all that we could do when we were done, was go back to our room and nap!! We're back home now, and will have to do a lot of walking, to work that meal off!
I think we have decided, that no matter how much we enjoyed all the "bigger" meals using the lunch vouchers, we will prob stick to the quick and casuals from now on. We usually don't eat such rich food in the middle of the day, and although we enjoyed it this time, we don't feel they are worth the cost. I gained 9 pounds even with all the walking and swimming!
