I would be interested to hear about where people enjoyed their favourite meal on their last trip.

For me, it was joint ;) between Bistro de Paris and Le Cellier. My parents looked after our children one night when DH and I went to EPCOT for a meal at Bistro. We timed it perfectly and had a truly wonderful view of Illuminations. I had the Duck Foie Gras appetizer and tenderloin of beef entree. Both were absolutley wonderful. The atmosphere of the restaurant is wonderful - it is very small and intimate. For desert, the white chocolate mousse was very rich and tasty. The service was excellent, the food could not have been better and the setting and view were perfect. We will definitely be back!

My other favourite meal was at Le Cellier. We went here on the recommendation of Karen (Miffy2003) and had a wonderful lunch. The food was good and the server was wonderful - telling a whole host of stories about her home town in Canada. The deserts were really well presented too.
I had the delicious calgary maple BBQ chicken sandwich, which was really nice and the portion was a perfect size. They also do a raspberry chocolate shake - now, I love milkshakes but I wasn't sure about this! However, it was actually quite nice, although I don't think I could drink more than one! For some reason, this is one of the only places I took a photo of the meal!

So, where was your favourite meal? What was the food/service/atmosphere/value like?

Has to be Chef Mickey for me!!.....I am still a kid at heart and watching my chidrens faces whilst swinging their napkins with Goofy made my holiday!!. It was my sons birthday and he got lots of extra special attention!!...The food was brilliant to (dont miss the Parmasen mash!!) and as its a buffet we could all choose our favourites!!.
I also like Prime Time Cafe at MGM. I think they do the best Pot Roast ever!!

I really liked Victoria & Alberts at the Grand Floridian Hotel. We put our DD in the kids club as we didn't think she would enjoy it and they do not do kids meals, but did see other children in the restaurant. DH thought it a bit stuffy but I would definately go again.

I liked the Californian Grill at Contemporary Hotel and Whispering Canyon is good fun if you have children with you.

I loved the Sci-fi diner and also Brown Derby in the Studios. Not too keen on Magic Kingdom restaurants as none do alcohol but like Liberty Tree Tavern. We like ESPN Club just outside Epcot on the Boardwalk. Like the mexican in Epcot but a little dark!! Le Cellier is really nice too. There doesn't seem to be anything nice in Animal Kingdom. I like Fultons Crab House in DTD but did not like Bongos on the Westside.

I think I have gone on too much! Sorry.

Le Cellier for me as well! My mum babysat one night last Xmas, and DH and I did the Candlelight Processional followed by Le Cellier. One of our best Disney nights ever!!

Everything about the meal was superb - ALL the staff were excellent, from the greeter, our server and the girls on the desk (we had a 20 min wait and they kept us amused with all sorts of WDW info!) Food was astoundingly good! I had the Asian Prawns, DH had the famous cheddar cheese soup - both 10/10. For our entree's we both had the filet - I had the house special with the mushroom risotto, DH had the filet with maple BBQ sauce and mash - both 10/10. Desserts were the Canadian Club Cake for me and cheesecake for DH - again 10/10. LOVELY!

Will be returning in a few weeks - no mum to babysit this year, so its kids and all!

Favorite on my last trip (a few weeks ago) was the Rose and Crown. My favorite ever was the old Akershus.

We're not into having proper sit down meals at WDW, though we are partial to character breakfasts. We love Chef Mickey's and we've been to the Crystal Palace once. Other than that we're more than happy with a quick meal in the resorts or our fave snack in China, Epcot

I love V&A (for special occasions!) too. I don't think I would take our children there just yet, though - I doubt they would enjoy the menu. California Grill is always a highlight of our trip :cloud9: I love the atmosphere and food.

I agree with you about the lack of nice dining at AK. The RFC is okay, but the food is a little mediocre in my opinion. We usually try Flame Tree BBQ for a counter-service lunch. The barbecued food is quite tasty and I like the outdoor theming and lakeside patios.

V&A was a good meal. However, my other half really enjoyed 'Ohana as well as we were there for wishes. Having been to Boma I thought it was over rated, but it is worth going for the soups and the desserts.

Oh, you just reminded me about the Cheddar Cheese Soup - how could I forget?? It was *delicious*! We ordered one to share, but DH ordered another as it was so tasty!

And another vote here for the food at Le Cellier.... however, our last but one experience there was ruined when another family were sat way too close to us and we left knowing all their business (sometimes a bonus, but this lot were not that interesting ;) )

Had the best steaks I've ever eaten in California Grill and the chocolate dessert with the liquid chocolate centre (like the M & S advert of a few months ago) ooooooh, fabulous.

Is this post exclusively about eating on-site? Some of our favourites are off-site and (IMHO) many on-site meals have been a tad expensive for what they were (or maybe I have simple tastes)

Best on-site? A wrap at Peco Bills in MK.... OR another vote for ESPN at Boardwalk ::MickeyMo

Last time around we had 3 faves : Bennigans LBV- our traditional first night meal, Outback steakhouse (just behind Premium Outlets) & Japanese at the Kobe LBV(cooked in front of us on the hotplate table). On-site worth a mention was the restaurant in Morroco, where we stopped for lunch on our return day in Ep.

Keep them coming guys as I'm going to save this thread for our first visit :)

Okay offsite.....

Olive Garden near the Crossroads provides regular, good value and high quality fare.

A workmate of mine visited for the first time a fortnight ago and I gave her no tips/guidance at all - she and her party loved OG. ::MickeyMo

Had great meals at Prime Time cafe but the best would have to be Planet Holywood! I had fajitas and they were luuuuurvely! Also the theming is really good in there.

I think Le Cellier by a whisker, though I also love Jiko. California Grill gets my vote for the wow factor.

Animal Kingdom hotel- the food is amazing and the evening buffest is excellent!
