Have looked quickly at a few of the places mentioned, and there sure are some pretty beaches down there!
Going to have fun continuing looking at them and deciding where to go,
You can't go wrong with any of the NC beaches people have listed here!!
My personal favorites are Wrightsville, Oak Island (when I was a little girl it was called Long Beach and it's where we took our family vacation every summer) and Atlantic Beach. I especially like Atlantic Beach because it is near Morehead and Beaufort and we can make day trips or go for great seafood and still have the traditional NC beach feel in a house or condo at Atlantic.
BTW, there is nothing "budget" about Bald Head - it is an exclusive resort island - as is Figure Eight - and you won't find any bargain pricing there!!!
