Alexdan -- If they like long dinners with wine pairings, they would love the Chef's Table at V&A. We've done it three times and will be doing it again in November. It takes three hours and the food is wonderful (we live in NYC so we know good food!). The wines are great and the sommelier will come and discuss the paired wines if they like. There are many courses because they bring you tastes of nearly everything on the evening's menu. It's expensive, but since price is no object . . . .
The only problem is the Chef's Table needs to be booked exactly 6 months out from the date you want it. Or, you need to be lucky and get a cancellation. If you have more than six months, read the thread on getting Cinderella's Royal Table and you'll understand how you need to call at exactly 7 a.m. Eastern time to book it.
If you can't get the Chef's Table, V&A dining room is also wonderful. Nice long meal, lots of courses and the wine pairings. The dining room is beautiful, tables are well-spaced, service is marvelous and a harpist plays. We love it so much we usually do the Chef's Table one evening and the dining room another evening while we're in Florida.
