Where to stop on the way home?

We're driving straight down but know that the excitement will not be there when coming home. So we're going to stop for one night. Check out is 11am, would like to travel until about 11pm. Any recommendations on where to stay?

I'm assuming you're travelling I-95 to I-77-I79 via Charlotte?

You may want to try around the Charlotte, N.C. area unless you plan on several stops for gas/kid play. Then there are several hotels close to the SC/GA state line.

Twelve hours of driving with stops for lunch and dinner should get you to Beckley, WV. Lots of hotels and restaurants.

we make it to VA. in past years we've stopped in Richmond, VA, but on on return drive last month, we stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, VA. Spent the night and the next day & night there before heading the rest of the way home. It was a surprise for the kids. They LOVED it. Was a great way to break up that sad drive home from WDW
