Where to stop, late night, as close to the Fort as possible?

The Flying J idea is not a bad one either. This time of year we can probably get away without any climate control in the camper. Thanks for that suggestion.

Donnie, can I pull into Turkey Lake in the wee hours of the morning?

We usually pull in around midnight. PM me and I'll give you more info. If you're not needing the a/c this will be a good bet IMO. You get off the Kirkman Road exit which also is US/IOA exit and it's about 5 minutes from there. The truck stops are ok but noisy not to mention 2 hours away rather than 15 minutes away.

Lake Louisa State Park is nice. They do close the gate at 5PM though. There is a touch pad to open the gate and if you call ahead they will give you the code. They do not like you to setup after 8PM though. I like the idea of Turkey Lake better. I will give that a try next trip.

What we did earlier this month was stopped at a motel/hotel just off of 95 the exit prior to I4 probably around midnight, and asked the clerk if we could park overnight. We gave them $5 or $10, were right off the highway and got up early, jumped on I4 and arrived at Seaworld by 8:30. Traffic wasn't too bad on I4.

Hmm, interesting. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. The hard part about this is knowing whether or not I will be able to make it all the way to Orlando without getting too sleepy. I have done it and longer trips like this in the past, but I would hate to commit to a reservation somewhere in Orlando and then not feel safe driving that late. Right now my plan is to figure something out on the drive down based on how I'm feeling, taking all of your suggestions into consideration of course.

Thanks again for all the input.
