We were looking at pics of Disney from 6 years ago . We stayed at the Polynesian . Mine said Can we go back this summer? I said we'd probably not ever go back- we did Universal Spring Break 2004 and did Discovery cove and Sea World too. My main problem in the summer is it so hot and they don't have FOTL like Universal. Where would I stay -not onsite but a fun pool to cool off in and also close enough that we could leave and go back and forth. My kids will be 11 and almost 14-

descriptive a nice pool.

condo/timeshares are nice.

there aren't that many places with a fun pool. Orange Lake is building one.

Liki Tiki Village has a nice one - but that is about all this resort has.

Sheraton Safaris also seems to have a good one.

but if you want the slides that Disney is famous for - you aren't going to find them offsite - except at water parks.

:cool1: Orange Lake is building there own water park and it should be done by the spring break time. And it's a great time there for the children and as well as adults. :cool1:

We stay there all the time for the past 10 yrs or so...
and the last 3 yrs no kids so it was still great for us and we are in the 35-45 age range so....

Where ever you choose have a great time! :cheer2:

I'm going to have to say I think the Disney pools are great- but they aren't SO GREAT they can make a whole vacation. I've been to other resorts around the world that have blown the Disney Pool area's away.

That being said---- I think that you'll have tons of options. If a nice pool is the only thing you're looking for?? What type of price range?

We have been researching this. In my opinion, the pool area at Windsor Hills rivals those at the WDW deluxe resorts, and the pool area at Regal Palms is even better than at WDW deluxe resorts. The first has zero depth entry, splash area, fountains, and HUGE slide. The second has all of that plus a lazy river.

Just a heads up, I spoke to Orange lake and they confirmed that the river coutry on site waterpark will not be open until late May/early June.

They I also asked if it will be heated inthe winter months. I was told nothing definitve but "probably" wil be.

We are considering this resort for a week in December and I think we will definately book there if the waterpark will be heated in December.
