:flower: Hi all
Two adults mid fiftys makeing first trip to wdw.
World travelers need advice on which moderate resort to stay at.
Thank You

I would recommend POFQ. It's recently been renovated, it's much smaller than the other moderates, has a boat to Downtown Disney and many people have said they consider it the most romantic resort on property.

I second POFQ. For two adults, it is quieter, and more intimate than many other Disney resorts. You'll love it!

Definitely CSR! Great resort, no shared transportation and has many deluxe amenitites like a gym and spa. Check out my CSR website below.

I guess depends on what you are looking for!

Do you want a large spread out resort with different themed areas?

Maybe something smaller and easy to navigate?

Both Caribbean Beach Resort and Coronado Springs are rather large resorts, each having a section that is a tad different than the other. For example, at Coronado Springs there are the Casitas, Ranchos and Cabanas. Each little area that houses these rooms are different than the other.

Port Orleans Riverside is large as well, but I'd say it's smaller (or seems that way do to the landscaping) than CBR or CSR. With Port Orleans Riverside, you have two sections to stay in, Alligator Bayou which is more rustic and has a Louisiana backwoods feel to it, or Magnolia Bend (my fave of the two) with a different "mansion" to select from such as Parterre Place, Magnolia Bend, etc.

Port Orleans French Quarter is the smallest of all the moderates and makes it a little easier to get around. If you are not looking to do much walking, then here would be your best bet. The nice thing about French Quarter and Riverside is that they are sister resorts, so you can use the pools at both resorts if you so desire. The walk between the two resorts is very scenic and relaxing!

My personal favorite of all the moderates is Coronado Springs. It is the newest of all the mods (opening in 1997) and has a more deluxe feel to it. The main pool The Dig Site is a big draw for young and old alike. We stayed in the Cabana section and had a great stay.

Let us know what you decide! :)

Well my favorite area to stay in ,is the Epcot area. I love being able to walk into the World Showcase in Epcot for dinner whenever I want without the hassel of bussing. That said there are no Moderate priced hotels within walking of Epcot or MGM. We have started renting villas from Vacation Club members. We stay in a deluxe resort for Moderate pricing and have made a few friends along the way.

If you are not looking to rent a villa and have your heart sent on a Moderate, our FAV is the French Quarter! Love the jazz music playing on property and the small size of the resort as well as the boat that goes to DTD.

Have fun deciding!

My favorite resort is CBR. I love the beautiful themeing and the sandy beaches. I like to stay in Jamaica, Building 44 or 45. I like to walk across a quiet, peaceful bridge to the main food court and swimming area. We're going in June to CBR for 8 nights, and I can't wait!! Good luck on your decision.

Thank You to all who answered my post
Where going to try Riverside for our first visit
We will take a room with a water view
Which building would be best?
Thanks again.

Are you requesting Alligator Bayou or Magnolia Bend?

Good decision. I would suggest bldg. 14. We stayed there on our 2002 trip and its location was great. I think the AB section is the most quaint and best landscaped Disney has to offer. Boatwrights is a nice sitdown restaurant onsite and we ate there a few times for lunch and breakfast. It beats the food court next door down.. Go to this site for some excellent pic. of this resort and others...smjj

Try not to miss Bob Jackson in the lounge at POR he is a hoot, great old fashioned piano man. Anywhere you stay at Riverside will be beautiful, we just got back from there and I wanna go back again LOL. Also, if you get a chance to have breakfast at the hotel restaurant Boatwrights...they have great food. They serve good dinners too but their breakfasts are exceptional. We originally had to book two rooms at ASMu and when we got to switch back to POR my 63 yr old dad almost danced like a lil princess he was so happy, and he's usually more like Grumpy. It's so relaxing there. I hope you have a wonderful time!
