where to stay

Here is my dilemma. My family perfers to be close to the pool and food places rather than the mor secluded rooms. We have stayed on site at the AS-movies(we got the location we requested) and CBR(South Trinidad not what we requested). I guess what I want to know is how do you get the room or close to the room you want. I have been told not to get to specific, however I see on the boards people asking for specific room #'s? We didn't mind spending extra for the moderate but we were much happier with the room location at the ASMovies. I am anticipating a May trip w/AP. Any suggestions on how to make my request.

i have to share, we stayed at ASSp and got what we requested as far as location went... and we stayed and CBR and did NOT get anything we requested (and it sucked!)... we are staying at Pop Century, and hope to have our requests fulfilled... wish us luck!

I requested a particular building at Coronado Springs & got it. Not as lucky at Contemporary.
