Where to stay?

We've been to wdw over 20 times through the years, and this time (in December) we plan to bring our toddler granddaughter. There will be 5 in all.
In April I booked at BCV hoping for a room only discount. As time draws closer, it looks like that isn't going to happen. The price per night with tax is 573.00:scared1: We've never stayed offsight before.
Can anyone suggest a one or two bedroom suite that is off sight but extremely close to the parks, as we would need quick access with our dgd.

Thanks

We stayed in a suite at the Doubletree in DTD a few years ago, were able to get it on Priceline for $55! It was very nice, the transportation was easy, and the employees were very friendly and helpful: http://doubletree1.hilton.com/en_US...o-Lake-Buena-Vista-Florida/index.do?WT.srch=1

We've also stayed at the Embassy Suites across the street from DTD (behind the CrossRoads shopping center - great restaurants!) and we really liked it. Free manager's reception at night (snacks and drinks) and free hot, cooked-to-order breakfast every morning. For us, that breakfast saves time and money. I don't know what the prices will be like in December, but we've gotten the Embassy Suites for around $115/night in October for a 1 bedroom suite: http://embassysuites1.hilton.com/en...tes-Orlando-Lake-Buena-Vista-Florida/index.do

That's it for suites we have stayed in, but I'm sure others will come along with lots more info!

Sheraton Vistana Resort, Sheraton Vistana Villages, Hilton Grand Vacation Club (I-Drive). All these locations are within minutes of the parks, have tons of space, and should meet your price requirements.

I prefer these 3 over DTD locations as they have much quicker park access via World Drive (SR 536). Traffic through DTD can be insane at times due to slow lights and the I-4 interchange. Traffic is much better just a few blocks south.

This assumes that you are using your own vehicle. Shuttles to offsite hotels are not a good option for heading home for mid-day naps.

We stayed at Orbit One Vacation Villas this past May. 5 minutes to the Animal Kingdom, two bedroom units and can be booked for about $80 per night, very nice and clean. I really enjoyed our stay.

You may want to look into Wyndham Bonnet Creek as well. They have 1,2, and 3 BR suites and are very affordable. My family will be staying in December in a 2BR Presidential suite for $115 a night. 1 BR Deluxes can be had for under $100 a night if there is availability. As far as I know, it is the closest off-site resort. It shares a property line with Carribean Beach Resort.

I booked with Paul from Utopia World Vacations. Best rate I could find outside of playing the Ebay bid wars.
You can email him for a quick quote. He is a nice guy. uwv@utopiaworldvacations.com

There are many great timeshare villas that you could use. I would just suggest that you hold out for a name brand like Marriott, Hilton, or Sheraton. We strayed once and there was a big difference. right now we like the new Hilton Grand Vacation club Parc Soleil resort. Absolutely beautiful and just a few minutes to the entrance of DTD. Marriott's Cypress Harbor is our other favorite. They all have great features but you'll love the extra room, the in room washer and dryer, and all the money you'll save by stocking your own fridge with items from the local Publix.

good luck

Thank you all for the great suggestions. I'm sure to find something suitable. Nice to know about the DTD area. I didn't think about the traffic.
