I know we are going to be going mainly to MK and AK (his favorites are Mickey and anything with animals). Since they are located so widely apart, its almost impossible to choose. We don't want to move mid-stay, since he doesn't do well with changes (its enough we're staying at any hotel!). Anyway, AoA looks adorable and I was considering it but I don't know where it is located as far as MK and AK (they both seem at opposite ends, is that correct?). We are planning on having a group of at least 6 or maybe even 8 (2 ppl are very undecided), so I figured one of the suites at AoA. He loves to take the bus and we are planning in the 2014 summer (still up in the air of exactly when but there is a Teacher's Aid and a teenage with us so it has to be summer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA:thumbsup2

If your budget allows, a monorail resort is a great choice. Mono-rail to the MK. Buss to the other parks. If that is not going to work for you, we love CSR. It's our favorite moderate. It's much quieter and slower pace that the values. Buses are great and our youngest who is now six calls it " our home at WDW".

Aoa is kinda right in between It a little closet to ak It a nice resort if he likes the cars movies then he love the resort or nemo and lion king to. They don't share a bus with anyone else and just one bus stop so it nice and if he likes the bus it a great resort for that. Plus with the getting newly painted buses and sure about the time you go more will be painted if give him more a Reason to ride the bus. A suite can hold up to six guests but they are very nice if hat the resort your thinking about I wouldn't worry it may seem far but it nit that far.

If you can swing it a DVC 2 bedroom is great for our kids , lots of room to find their own spot, and it you have a picky eater or just want to save a ton of $ the kitchen is great.

Old Key west, bay lake towers or Villas at wilderness lodge would be the best. Renting points form a DVC member can also save a lot of $

Couldn't agree more with Bookwormde. Not necessarily DVC, an offsite rental would do the job too. Our dd with ASD has always needed her own separate getaway space after being in the parks. It wouldn't have worked out for us in a standard hotel room, at that age.

OP, I'd suggest a trial run close to home to see if your child does okay in a hotel room with others, or not.

I completely agree with this. My DD has ASD and has many sensory issues. We stayed exclusively at OKW before BLT opened and now stay there for the walk to MK. But my DD doesn't do well with the buses like your child. If the bus were an option for us, I would choose OKW every time.

I really liked the quiet environment at OKW and the size of the 2BR just can't be beat. And all of the DVC units that are one bedroom or larger have a jacuzzi tub in the master bath. This tub saved many trips for us. It calmed my overstimulated daughter when needed.

Oh I forgot to mention the kitchen. I don't know how your child does in restaurants, but mine couldn't do dinner after being in the crowds all day. The kitchen made it not necessary to fight it.
