Hello everyone! I'm going to cross post this on the transportation board, but since many of you seem to have larger families, I thought I would ask here as well.

We are going to be driving down to WDW from MN in May. We have never driven before, but we are excited for the challenge. Last time we took a long road trip, we were a family of 4, but we are now a family of 6. Our kids will be 7, 5, 2, and 4 months. We easily fit in a standard hotel room because the 2 year old can easily sleep with us, the 2 oldest share a bed, and the little guy sleeps in a pack n play. On other recent trips, we have done this with no problem, but I know some hotels are much more strict about maximum occupancy. We will only be stopping to sleep, so I would like to avoid getting 2 rooms. We will be staying 2 nights each way (one in IL and one near the GA/FL border if it matters), and we have a pretty good idea of what cities we will be staying in each way.

My question is, I've read before that there are certain hotel chains that sleep 5 (which would likely work because most have an exception for an additional baby in a crib) or 6. I can't seem to find it by searching. Can anyone help me know what chains those are, or what hotels allow extra small children in the room? I'm not looking to break any fire codes here, I have full intention of doing it legally, but I know there are chains out there that allow for this. Thanks!

Try searching at www.sixsuitcasetravel.com There are lots of Days Inns and COmfort Inns that will have 2 Queen beds and a pull-out sofa that will easily sleep 6. Drury Inns also have bigger suites. We are 7, and the last 2 trips we have just squeezed into 1 hotel room since the kids were all so little. THis year I don't think we will fit, so I'm making a list of places that will have enough room. If that doesn't work, we will try to get a room w/ a connecting door.

We are a family of 5 so need more than just the 2 queen beds as well. We have had good luck with the Holiday Inn Express and Suites. Typically you can get 2 queens plus a sleeper sofa.

We usually try to stay at Embassy Suites with our kiddos. You usually get 2 queens and the sleeper sofa, plus there are 2 separate rooms. You also get free hot breakfast and a managers reception with snacks and drinks every evening.

We are a fam of 5 who drive from IL. We always stay in Embassy Suites during our drive. Works out perfectly for our family.

Perfect timing!! I was just getting ready to look for a hotel for our drive down. We are taking my niece with us so this will be the first time we've had to look for a room as a family of 5.

SpringHill Suites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They have two queen beds plus nice big fold out couch! Super nice and spacious.

For FL/GA border, there is one at on I-95 South at exit 94 and one at exit 104 (These are in the Savannah area). We've stayed at both and the chain, in general, is perfect for the slightly larger family:)

We are a family of 6 and drive from NYC to FL every year. We always get a room that sleeps 6. We do it in one night.

We usually do Country Inn and suites (the kids love the chocolate chip cookies at the front desk).
We Also do Comfort Inn and Suites
Best Western or
Residence Inn had a 2 bedroom.

We love driving. It really bonds our family. Our kids want to drive. I can't wait for our trip.

Enjoy!

Caribe Royale is fabulous-two queen beds, pull out couch in living room, microwave and fridge. Sign up on their site and every week they have a new deal. We got free breakfast off the menu for our entire stay-had eggs benedict every morning! The grotto pool, water slide, hot tub, toddler pool/splash, arcade X2, free parking, no resort fee, non smoking, awesome work out building and really close to Disneyworld made this a fantastic vacation for our family of 5.
