Hello,

We are a family of 6. Usually we stay at a Disney resort and use the DCL bus to the port. This year we are having trouble booking a resort as most are fully booked! Any ideas of where to stay the night before and stil bale to use the DCL bus service? THANKS :)

I like the Hampton Inn & Suites Gateway at MCO.

You can take their shuttle to MCO and the DCL bus from there.

I rescind my former suggestion to stay at Cocoa Beach Comfort Inn & Suites. It formerly had fit the bill for us with having the suite for 5, proximity to port, shuttle, pool, free bfast, WiFi, free parking, beach access. Bleck. Has gone downhill in the 3 yrs we'd been there.

ETA: I just read the part about DCL bus service. We stayed at the MCO Hyatt Regency for the day, and it was a beautiful facility, gorgeous rooftop pool and it is my understanding that you can use DCL bus service (although we did not ).

We like Residence Inn on Astronaut Blvd. Its big rooms nice and clean.
We booked a 2 bedroom suite for under $200 for Sept. 29th before our Fantasy cruise (God willing)
Free breakfast and they also offer cruise and stay parking packages.

Another option is the Hyatt in the terminal at MCO airport, we have done it many times - fly in the night before. You let the front desk know that you are sailing on a DCL ship, put your luggage tags on the bags, and leave them in your hotel room. The bellman will pick up your bags and get them put on the trucks to the port. In the morning you can check in for one of the first busses to PC around 9-9:30.

Wow, I didn't know they'd transport your luggage for you. Is that regardless of how you're getting to the port or is it just if you are on Disney transportation? Do you pick it back up at the Port or does it arrive at your room?

We're staying at the Hyatt this time because we are getting in quite late the night before (10:30). Last year, on our first cruise, we stayed at the Residence Inn which was just fine, but the wait for the shuttle took a long time and given that we want to get the kids to bed as soon as we can (albeit they usually have trouble sleeping... can't figure out why), we're going with the Hyatt this year.

They take it from hotel room and you see it again at your stateroom. Would think it would apply regardless of your transportation option but I have personally only done the Dis transporting when staying at the Hyatt

THey pick up your checked bags (what you want to check for the ship) inside your room at between 8 and 830 or so. If you tell them at checkin you are taking a DCL cruise they give you a letter explaining everything. As far as I know the baggage service is only if you are on DCL transfers, as the bags are loaded on the DCL transfer luggage truck.

The bags will arrive in your stateroom on the ship.

Carryons you bring on the bus (larger ones go underneath) and you cart those into the terminal and onto the ship yourself.
