Where to stay on a "budget" trip with 6 month old twins?

DH and I usually stay at the BC, but we are trying to do a budget trip this December with our 6 month old twins because we'll spend most of the time in the parks and resort hopping to check out the Christmas decorations.

We've never been at Christmastime before and really want to head down. Do you think it matters where we stay if we are planning on renting a car? We LOVE the BC but I just can't pay that price if we probably won't use the pool like we usually do due to the kiddos and the weather in Dec.

For those that travel with infants....please let me know what works.

Thanks!

If you're planning for THIS December, you may want to check which hotels are still available for the week you want to go. That may narrow your choices a bit.

When we go for our "Christmas" visits, we've stayed quite a few times at one of the values - Pop Century is one of our favorites! (We've also stayed at the All Star Movies and Music) We've never had a problem with the buses, or with noisy neighbors.

We've also stayed at the Swan - which we loved - oh those heavenly beds!!
This time, we're staying at Coronado Springs.

If you're going to have a car, I wouldn't think it would matter where you stayed. Maybe you could choose a hotel based on the theme!

Good luck and have a great trip!!!!

First, congrats on your twins! We have twins also and have been taking them to WDW since they were 7 months old. It's SO fun!

We never had a car for any of our trips, so we stayed at either monorail resorts or Epcot area resorts so we could get around with the babies and double stroller easier. As far as watching the budget, I think part of December is value season so you could probably get some really good rates.

Also, I see you are going in October, 2008? If you are indeed going then and also this December, 2007, you may want to consider buying Annual Passes, which can save you a fair amount of money on the various resorts. You may even get a good AP rate at AKL for this December (I assume WL is book solid), and you can still stay at a deluxe (since you are used to BC and love it there....). Seems to me that AKL standard room during December value season is around $145 per night AP rate, but that is just from memory and you'd need to check that.

I read nice things about the moderate resorts too. We've never stayed at any of them with babies, though.

Good luck with the twins and enjoy them in Disney!
:)

would go with Pop century - would ask for a quiet room - hopefully with a lake view.
