Where to stay near Seaworld?

We are thinking of spending a few days in Orlando next year and just doing Seaworld, Aquatica, and maybe DC. We won't be going to Universal or WDW.

We would like a nice place near Seaworld, possibly walking distance (is there such a thing?). We prefer nice over inexpensive, we aren't into budget accommodations. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Seaworld.com give a GREAT package deal with Residence Inn at Seaworld. You can get unlimited Seaworld days and 3 nights for about $500 for 5 people--lodging, tickets and buffet breakfast. Look for "kids for free" special when booking. We did htis package last year and thought it was such a good value and nice place that we have this booked again for Christmas break. Residence Inn is very nice, upscale, large roomy space with full kitchen, comfortable beds, nice grounds, good pool with zero entry.
I highly recommend it.

Hawthorne on Westwood is also very close to SW.

Rennaisance is closest, literally across the street--definitely nice, tho aimed more at convention-goers than families. The above choices are also close, tho, within walking distance unless it's raining or insanely hot outside.

Thanks everyone. I've checked out the above place and I think the Residence Inn looks great. I tried putting in our dates on the Seaworld site and it came back that nothing was available. I'm wondering if the haven't set up the package deals for next year yet. I did go to the Marriott website and there are rooms available. I know I'm early (we are thinking about end of June/early July) so maybe I'll just wait awhile and try again.

We are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn at Seaworld for a couple of nights. We chose it because it was free with reward points, but it looks really nice and I have read several positive reviews. Maggie

Look into the Extended Stay Deluxe on westwood... it's cheap and VERY nice!

Last fall we stayed in a beautiful 2 br condo at Hilton Grand Vacation Club (Hilton's timeshares) It's definitely not low buget. It has a huge master bath with double sinks and Jacuzzi, full kitchen with granite countertops, 3 tv's and 2 full baths so no need to share with your kids.
Lovely pool area with billiards, ping-pong, activities for kids like making tie-dye tshirts, build your own sundae, face painting, dive-in movie, etc. We didn't want to leave!
Yes, it's within walking distance to SW. It's right across the street. I hope you find something good!

The Ritz-Carlton at Grande Lakes is nearby and very nice. Norman's, their fine dining restaurant is quite good. I've read that the Marriott there is almost as nice for less money.

We stayed at the Residence inn in 2005 and was very happy with it. Only thing was we didn't realize how close we were until we got in the car that morning drove 10 minutes around sea world to get to parking, got out of the car, looked to the left and saw our hotel across the street, LOL.

It might be a shot in the dark but check Hilton Grand Vacations which is a timeshare villa that overlooks Sea World.Sometimes they do rent rooms if available.I have stayed here before and it was great.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn last Thursday. We walked over to Seaworld. They have a $10 breakfast buffet which was pretty good. The room was nice.
