Where to stay near Jacksonville?

We are driving from NJ in early Sept. and are planning to stop near Jacksonville for the night. We usually stay at a Hampton Inn but I just received a free night at a Marriott owned hotel. Can anyone recommend one near Jacksonville? How are the Residence Inns?

I just bid on PL for three nights in South Jacksonville, got the Homestead Stuites for $35.00 per night, has a kitchen and is off of 95. I need to be there for a graduation on Friday, 8-6. I have gotten a few places on PL for this area.
