Where to stay in Clearwater Beach

We would like to go to Clearwater for a couple of days. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good inexpensive place to stay with kids. Thank you, Christine

I am interested in knowing this also. At first, I was going to visit Cocoa Beach, but couldn't get over my reluctance since I once vacationed on the Gulf side many years ago. Seeing everyone's posts against the Atlantic Side sent my tentative plans changing once again. So far, we are planning on spending three (or more) nights in Clearwater upon our arrival (and one in Orlando on the night we check out of WDW).

I would sort of like beachfront, but I like the family atmosphere of a Mom and Pop place. I'm torn so any recomendations would be of interest to me right now.

I would also like to know! I just think Clearwater looks amazing & even if we only go for one day, I want to go! I've been to Cocoa Beach one time & I absolutely hated it. No offense to anyone, it just wasn't what I expected!
