Where to stay in Barcelona before cruise?

That's how it worked for us, except we had to take the luggage down to the bus but they handled it from there.

I would recommend both hotels we stayed at. The Hotel DO is more high end and romantic. It is located on Las Ramblas and is an amazing boutique hotel. It is very easy to walk to the beach from there too. The square by the hotel is full of all kind of night time action. The staff is great and the tapas bar on the roof was so romantic and yummy. If you book directly throught the hotel, they give you a free bottle of wine and a small meal of tapas on the roof top or in your room.

But our favorite hotel is a little further out in the shopping district area. The Olivia Balmes Hotel was a lovely place to stay. The staff was amazing! They even upgraded us to a suite. The welcome coffee and breads were great. The roof top pool and bar were nice to relax at. You can walk to all the great shops and even to Las Ramblas from this hotel. Loved this area!

We stayed at the Hotel Continental Palacete. It's a funny hotel....a but quirky....but in a fabulous location. They had a buffet that was available round the clock(not sure if that's still available) but it was great for a snack after touring or before bed. They always had free water bottles out, too. Our daughter was 9 at the time and she thought it was amazing. It wasn't overly pricy for where it was located. We would stay there again.

One thing to note....there are two hotels.....hotel Continental and Hotel Continental Palacete. We stayed at the Palacete.

We stayed at the Royal Ramblas Hotel in a family room when our kids were 3 and 8. It was a wonderful location-- in the heart of Las Ramblas as the name implies. Short walk to La Boqueria market. Our room included a breakfast buffet as well. I would highly recommend it. If you are looking for transportation from the airport, I would highly recommend Autos Vilar (our driver was Juan). We hired them to transfer us to our hotel, from hotel to cruise terminal, and cruise terminal to airport. Juan was great and so patient as we filed a missing baggage claim upon arrival **which is why you need to arrive a day or two before your cruise**. We loved Barcelona and we hope to return to spend more time in the city.

We stayed 2 nights at Hotel Lleo, just up from Las Ramblas and Placa Catalunya. We booked via Expedia and got a great rate compared to all the other hotels I had heard mentioned in my research. The rooms had a clean and modern style. Lots was just a quick walk from our hotel and easy access to HOHO Bus and Metro lines.

Thanks, everyone! When we were looking, the # of hotels in Barcelona was overwhelming! This is very helpful and much appreciated!
