Where to stay in AKL?

Booked AKL for our first trip to Disney since honeymoom 9 yrs ago (WL). DS, 6, first time ever! Going in Feb President's Day week as DH is teacher. We have a Savannah view room. anyone with AKL experience have suggestions as far as which part of the hotel to ask for?

Hi. AKL is my favorite resort. I've stayed there 5 or 6 times and am going back in early 2006!
For your first stay at AKL, I would strongly recommend requesting Arusha savanna view; Zebra trail. The Arusha Savanna has, IMO, the most impressive views and is also the only savanna w/ zebras. The Zebra Trail side puts you at a much closer proximity to the pool, Mara food court, laundry facility, kids' club, etc. I would call and have these two requests added to your reservation. I second the Arusha view on the Zebra Trail location. Our room was in the second "building" off the lobby (second floor). We absolutely LOVED the location. We were close to everything in the hotel as well as having a great view of the savannah and Arusha Rock.

I've heard lots of people say to ask for third or fourth floor, that the second floor is "too low". We were fine with it. We could see everything. Hope this helps.
