We're looking to stay at a disney resort in mid november (around the 16-20th). we'd like a moderately priced room. i belong to costco which provides discounts for the wyndham palace, and have the entertainment book which has discounts for a ton of hotels but only the wdw swan/dolphin. my uncle recommended the port orleans resort. which of these would be the best value for us? 2 adults and 2 kids 3 & under. my in-laws are florida residents. do residents get better rates? i heard that they get discounts on park admission. how do i find out about that? thank you for your help! email me please! :)

Ok ok. Gosh where to start...First, dont stay at the Wyndham. We were very disappointed by it last spring. Disney is worth every cent.

Florida residents do get discounts. Ask your in-laws about them.

AAA offers discounts. 10% on most resorts and 25% at Ft Wilderness. This is a great ooption if your kids are old enough to sleep in beds. You get a cabin with a bedroom that has a double and bunk beds in the bedroom, plus a double murphy bed in the living room. With the seperate bedroom you can put the kids to bed and still talk to your husband or watch tv in the evenings. You also get a full kitchen so you can save on meals. With the AAA discount they will run you about the same as one moderate room with fridge rental.

Of the moderates im a port orleans girl. The pop-culture resort is brand new so there wont be any aging issues.

:) I agree, stay in Disney, it is definitely your best bet! Any of the All Star resorts are value priced and the kids will love it, esp. the MOVIE resort. You can't get a better deal anywhere!! And the food courts are great, they have a good selection, even like a mini grocery type section and reasonable prices. Plus, buy the mugs at least for the grown ups. They pay for themselves 10 times over, plus they make a great souvenior to take home. :Pinkbounc And yes, Fl residents do get discounts. :bounce:

We loved the AS resorts as well. My DD loved the Music resort. We went when she was 2. She still wants to stay in the hotel w/ the Tucan and Bongo drums. It's also very reasonable. Keep surfing to find the best rates!!;)

For many years I stayed with my family in off-property resorts, and I couldn't figure out why anyone would put out the extra dollars to stay on-site. Then, a couple years ago, I got a really good deal on CBR so decided to give it a shot. Well, I must have said 20 times during that four day stay, "Now I get it." There really is no comparison. I have stayed at CBR, the Poly, and the Dolphin. Wow. What a difference. It truly is magic. You are made to feel like special guests the whole time, and the resorts are all so beautiful. I will not stay off site ever again.
I got very good rates on CBR for Sept with AAA, but then I got an email offer for AKL for the same rate so AKL here I come!
If you can stay even at a moderate, do it. If you can stay at the Dolphin, so much the better. It's awesome. I woke up in the morning and had coffee looking out over the boardwalk and Epcot off in the distance. It was great. Stay on site if you can; you won't regret it.

I agree with everyone and stacey makes some good points you will get good rates with a resident discount and a discount on the passes. With that discount the CBR would be nice. Nice pool and food court. Its a nice moderate and while I have never stayed at POR ( formerly Dixie landings) i heard heard great things about the resort. Both are family friendly. Swan and Dolphin are offering some amazing discounts you can check them out at this web page or www.mousesavers.com I heard about them maybe extending that $99 rate past September. Good luck !
:D
