We're SSR owners and our one trip we've done that's where we stayed. It was one of their huge family suite things, 3 BR, 2 stories etc, and it was GREAT! We will have one more kid and one fewer adult (I think, my brother might come again) this time, but still would like something like that. We enjoyed and used our kitchen and washer/dryer and will need probably 3 rooms again. I don't know enough to even know where to look so I thought I'd ask here to see what resorts offer rooms like that and if you liked it for kids etc. My mom thought we could look at some place new if we wanted so I thought I'd ask here. We went in Sept last time and we'll go in Dec this time, not sure if it makes a difference. Thanks!

We've stayed in Jambo house at AKV and thought it was Fantastic! OKW was also very nice since it is very spacious. We have been lucky enough to get the cottage at VB too. But OKW and VB were points from a friend who owns there. AKV was a fluke because of the time we went and the villas had just opened.

We call on the 11 month mark at 9 am sharp to get the GV. They can be very difficult to get. Another option is to get two 2bd. You get more bedrooms and the points are less. That's what we're doing this year.

We are SSR owners too. We just returned from a trip this past Dec. and did a split stay at OKW and BCV. If you are going w/ a lgr group and are looking for a more spacious room, then I would try staying at OKW. We had friends w/ us during the first part of our trip and we stayed in a 2 BR at OKW. While we didn't think the accommodations were as nice as those at SSR, the room was a lot bigger and the resort was nice. The extra added bonus is that you are able to save a few points too.
BCV was awesome...esp. the pool. If I could get in there again, then I absolutely would do it. They don't have 3 BR villas though and it was really hard to switch over to that resort. I was on the waitlist until 30 days prior to my trip, when luckily, it came through.
Have fun on your trip. WDW was BEAUTIFUL in Dec.!

I think you'll be hard pressed to get a GV at the seven month mark for December. That is a VERY popular time for DVCers and GV's are difficult to get at any time, except maybe for weekends pre-2010 points. I just called at the ten and a half month mark for a 1BR Boardwalk view and am waitlisted for one night in the middle. I think you had better book your SSR room/rooms at the eleven month mark so you have something for sure, then you can try switching at seven months out.

Thanks, that's a good idea. We can book one for sure and try to switch if there's spots available. We might be able to get away w/ a 2br if necessary as long as there's a pull out couch, really depends on if my brother comes w/ us. We'd rather all stay together, that gives me a little break and lets my parents watch the kids for me sometimes, lol.
