Where to stay day before

We have booked an April 2004 cruise and were planning on arriving the day before. Where do most of you stay? Disney? Port Canaveral?

A lot of it depends on when you will arrive on the day before. It's usually after 5:00pm by the time we land, so we stay at the Hyatt at the airport. It's more expensive, but very convenient, as it is right in the terminal. If you land earlier in the day, you might want to consider going over to the coast that day and staying near the port. Many people choose the Radisson in Cape Canaveral, which is only about 3 miles from the port.

I personally would not bother going over to the WDW resort if I landed in the afternoon on the day before the cruise. It's actually further from the port than the airport, and I don't feel that there would be enough time to actually do much of anything other than eat dinner and get some sleep. I can do that at the airport.

You'll get lots of differing opinions on this. That was mine....

I agree. We were planning to stay at the Radisson, but decided to stay at POR since we would be getting there early the day before. I think it would be nice to spend some time at DTD before our cruise. The only downside is we have to get up much earlier to get to the port early like we want to.

Loved staying at the Hyatt MCO. It was so convenient, we checked in before we even got our bags from Baggage Claim. Plus, if you put your bags out before 8:30 am the day of the cruise, DCL comes through the halls and picks them up, even if you are not using their transfers. The next time you see them is in your cabin. It was great not to worry about lugging them all over. We jsut met out firver outside, stoppped at the grocery store and breezed right onto the ship.

Also, The Hyatt stored our carseat for us all week while we sailed. We wanted it on the plane, but not in our cabin all week, this was so great. It was waiting at hotel check in when we came back a week later and we used it for the flight home.

We pd. $83.00, which I thought was very fair. I know others are much cheaper through price line, etc...but this was the biggest convenience for us, especially traveling with two toddlers.

Good luck!

I say if you getting in at a decent hour the day prior to your cruise, by all means spend the time at disney. There's nothing like getting a quick fix of the mouse prior to the cruise to build the excitment even further.

Last cruise we stayed at Radisson Cape Canaveral. The suites and the pool were very nice. They offer free transportation to the port, and it seemed relatively organized, but I saw huge crowds out front of the hotel in the morning for transport to the various cruise lines. Another option is to rent a car in Orlando and drop it off the next morning at the rental company's Cape Canaveral office. We did this, and for a family of 4 it cost less than the Disney transfers from Orlando. And as an added benefit, we were able to avoid the crowded buses from the Radisson and have the car rental folks take us to the port at our convenience.

Whatever you do DON"T STAY AT THE HYATT MCO it is not convienent to anything and you pay through the nose for a ordinary small hotel room. Stay at a value resort on WDW property and not only do you pay less, including transport from the airport, but you get a room that is a little bigger than Hyatt.

we like to stay at the days inn in titusville. its quite they have a pool and even better there is lots of resturants near by. the cost is less then what you would pay in cocoa beach or closer to the port. and from the hotel to the port its only a 20 minute drive. also near by is a walmart super center. i hope this helps
