Where to stay - CR, WL, AKL, Poly, BC, etc...

Well, we have a room booked at the CR - $166/nt in a Garden Water View room from July 3 -6. We were also offered rooms at WL or AKL for $137/nt (we have 5 people, though, so we'd need two rooms). We could do a Garden View at the Poly for $239 or a BC standard room for $219. Didn't ask about anything else.

I'm starting to have second thoughts about the CR based on the "minimal" theming - would we be better off spending a fair bit more to get the better theme?

If we stay at CR, any specific recommendations for a room? I've already requested Non-Smoking, North Wing, but not a specific room...

Thanks!

Wendy

I'm new to this, but Wow! Those sounds like great rates. I read somewhere that the WL rooms can house up to 6 people (sounds a bit cramped though) and I'm not sure if these are special rooms.

We stayed at the CR North Wing over spring break. We really liked being able to walk to MK in 10 minutes and having the monorail so close. The room is huge, too, so it would be great for 5 people. We stayed on the lower level of the North Wing. It was nice having a patio, not having to take the elevator, and there was a little beach area not far from our room. The upper floors in the wings don't have a balcony, just a screen door that opens up. We also fairly close to the main building, so you might request that if you can. CR doesn't have the landscaping that Poly does nor as nice a pool as BC, but we thoroughly enjoyed staying there.

Is CR a wing??
either way those are great rates for any resort
I would stay in the POly as it is rare to get it for 239.00 and that is my favorite resort.....
you will love it
I the CR is tower then yo may wnat to stay with that though as that world be your best deal (if that makes a diffrence)
But I feel the Poly is by far a lot nicer ::MickeyMo

From the room diagrams at various websites, the guest rooms at the CR look bigger than most WDW rooms. And they have real bathrooms, not that stupid split sink half open/half closed thing that drives me so crazy.

I would stick with CR. The rooms are huge. The waterview is very pretty and relaxing. There is nothing like seeing the monorail coming out of the tower. The resort is very convenient to the MK, particularly from the north wings. We loved the CR. The only problem we had was when we checked in, we had a hard time finding a parking place. After about 6 that night, we were able to move much closer to the building--it was very convenient.

we loved the cr.. i dont understand what people are talking about when they say there is no disney theme or feel to the cr... how much more disney can you get than chef mickeys in the lobby and the monorail running right through the hotel.. besides the rooms being HUGE!! we loved the cr i wouldnt change if i were you
