Looking for tips on the best moderate and deluxe hotels to stay at during the Christmas period. I'm at CCV for 8 nights over Christmas Day but I'm looking for a 5 night stay from 15th December and I'm just not sure what to book. I keep looking at the Grand Floridian but I'm not sure I can justify the cost. How are the rooms looking these days? I'm sure they haven't been renovated in a while so I wonder if they're starting to look tired?

If I am reading this correctly, you are looking for a 5-night stay prior to your CCV reservation? If so, I would suggest booking something in the EP resort area to switch things up a bit and to be closer to DHS and EP during that part of your stay. Especially during the holiday period, the closer you can be to the various parks, the better as transportation can become incredibly crowded. We love Beach Club for its proximity to EP and the Skyliner entrance, but all of the hotels in that area - BC, BCV, YC, BWI, BWV and even Swan/Dolphin are very nice.

Another vote for a resort in the EP resort area. If that 5 night trip won't be a park intensive trip, you might want to look at AKL or SSR. AKL because I love their decorations and also being able to relax around the resort and watch the animals. SSR because it's close to DS and who knows what fun stuff they will do there this year! :)

I LOVED Wilderness Lodge at Christmas, but for the price, really enjoyed Dolphin too. Obvious proximity to Epcot plus great decor at Swan and Beach Club to enjoy, pre-covid anyway.

Wilderness Lodge is perfect for the Christmas holidays. Worth every penny. Grand Floridian is nice, but rooms are ready for refurb! just my opinion.

We love the Wilderness lodge, they have great Christmas Decorations and your right in the middle of everything. If you were to add I would choose Grand Floridian or the Yachtclub...both places are also nice at Christmas time

Thanks so much for the replies! We’ve decided to go with the Grand Floridian for the first 5 nights before moving to Copper Creek. Then we’ll finish up at Saratoga Springs. Can’t wait 🤗

I'll put another vote in for Wilderness Lodge but I'll also add we set aside time to tour many/most of the other resorts as there's a lot to see at each.

You'll love GF! Rooms might be a little tired but it will feel very festive and give you easy access to the monorail/ MK and other 2 monorail resorts. If you change your mind and want to be in Epcot area, Riviera has a similar feel to GF in my opinion, the rooms are more updated, and the Skyliner is a fun form of transportation!
